By word countas follows: Trim size selected 5x8 5.5 x 8.5 6x9 7.5x9.25 8.25 x 11 APPROXIMATE word count limit 150,000 words (approx.) 175,000 words (approx.) 200,000 words (approx.) 225,000 words (approx.) 300,000 words (approx.)

2. Submit your complete and FINAL manuscript in MS Word only (NOTE: WordPad is not the same as MS Word-please do not use). If you have Wordperfect, you can submit your manuscript saved in MS word format. Please follow these instructions: 1. In Wordperfect, click File > Save as. 2. Choose the drive and folder in which you want to save the file. 3. Type the filename in the Filename box. 4. Choose the appropriate Microsoft Office file format from the File type list box: MS Word 5. Click Save. 3. Your book will be single-spaced and set at 12-pt. font unless you inform us prior to typeset. If you wish to submit your FINAL manuscript in a font size/spacing other than our DEFAULT 12-pt. font, you may do so. Please select one of the following font sizes/spacing from the list below. Font type must be TIMES NEW ROMAN. (This applies to the body copy of your manuscript). You may include text styles in your manuscript: bold, italic, bold italic, underscore. Point Font Size: 1. 10pt -16pt Spacing: 1. Single 2. 1.5 3. Double

4. Submit all front matter (table of contents, introduction, dedication, etc., if applicable) AND chapters in ONE word document. Please make sure content is in the order you wish for it to appear in book. 5. Include title page as your first page with complete title, subtitle (if applicable, and author name exactly as you wish for it to appear on book cover. 6. Include the copyright page as the second page in your manuscript. Indicate on the copyright page which version(s) of the Bible you will use by inserting this paragraph on the copyright page: Unless otherwise indicated, Bible quotations are taken from ________(version{s}) of the Bible. Copyright (c) ___(year) by _____(publisher). We will create this page for you, but we need the Bible information in order to create it. 7. Clearly label each chapter and/or section in your manuscript. 8. We will add page numbers to your table of contents (TOC) in you final typeset galley; there is no need to include page numbers in your manuscript. 9. If using bullets, use the standard MS Word bullets only. 10. If you have an index, wait to submit it with correct page numbers after you receive your final typeset galley. 11. Your manuscript must not contain any automatic (hyperlinked) references, and your references must appear as endnotes (not footnotes). Any automatic reference citations must be removed and manually typed in. Our formatting software will not recognize any text created through MSWords auto-format functions (i.e. table of contents, endnotes, etc.). To manually type-in your reference numbers: type-in the number after the sentence/quote youre referencing, highlight it, right-click on your mouse, select font, then select superscript. This will format your number correctly. Then at the end of your manuscript you should add a page entitled endnotes and there you can type in the reference for your sentence/quote. **
** DO NOT USE ANY AUTO FUNCTIONS IN MS WORD. THEY WILL NOT CONVERT PROPERLY**

12. To create long dashes (em dashes), use two hyphens. 13. If submitting endorsements for interior or cover of book, they need to be submitted along with original submission. Sending them later will only delay the production process. 14. When using Hebrew and/or Greek characters in your word document, use specific Hebrew and Greek fonts and not Words special characters. 15. BACK COVER COPY GUIDELINES: Your FINAL Back Cover Text may not exceed 300 words. If you decide to use an author photo for the back cover, please send it at 100% of size and 300 dpi then saved as a TIFF or JPEG file (please save as JPEG if e-mailing). Name the file with the

author name_BC photo. Example: JohnSmith_BC photo.jpg.. There is not a graphic fee for back cover photos. Common Mistakes to Avoid: 1. Do not use the Enter/ Return key at the end of each line ( as you would on a typewriter). Let the text automatically flow from one line to the other. Only use the Enter/ Return key once at the end of each paragraph. 2. Do not use the space bar or Tab key to align or indent your text. Any indent you want in your text should be done with the margin controller. Use tab key only to indent the first line of each paragraph. 3. Do not use columns in your work unless used as a chart or table and meant as a graphic. See instructions for graphic submissions. 4. Do not manually insert hyphens to indicate where a word should break at the ends of lines. 5. Do not include your back cover text ( summary and authors biography) inside your manuscript unless you want it to be included inside your book. Submit it online or in a Word document with your submission. 6. Do not set specific margins in your word document. We will do this once we are ready to format your book. 7. Do not use the MSWord automatic function for a numbered list - you must type each number. Guidelines for submitting your book with graphics: 1. We have a 50 graphic limit in our books. 2. Photographs, illustrations, tables, text boxes, diagrams, and charts- all are graphics. 3. Graphics should be submitted in files separate from your manuscript file. **See EXCEPTIONS to this rule below. 4. Graphics should be scanned at 100% of size and 300 dpi then saved as a TIFF or JPEG file (please save as JPEG if e-mailing). A single graphic cannot continue across two pages. We do not do bleeds for graphics in the interior. If you provide images at a resolution lower than 300 dpi, it will affect the quality of the printed book. 5. Graphics files should be named according to the order in which they will appear in your manuscript, not named by content. For example, if Graphic #1 in your book is Baby Picture of Nanny the file should be named 01 not Baby Picture of Nanny. In your manuscript, indicate where a graphic is to appear in the text with a bracketed , boldface note. For example, **[ GRAPHIC #1]. Please number graphics in sequential order, according to the same bracketed, boldface placement notations you indicated in your manuscript. There is ONE exception to this rule-see Tables/Charts section below. 6. If you have captions with your graphics, include the captions inside the book along where the insertion instructions are.

7. You may send the actual images to be scanned, or you may scan the images and send them to us in a digital format (Email your Pre Production Rep or send it on CD-ROM). 8. Remember to include $15 or $25 with your submission payment for each graphic element you want included in your manuscript: $25 per graphic for properly sized graphics we need to scan, $15 for graphics that come to us electronically.( Charges are subject to change without notification.) **Tables/Charts/Textboxes **Exception to graphics submissions guidelines: Please submit tables and charts in your manuscripts original Word document. These are the only kinds of graphics that should be submitted within the Word document. This ensures a higher quality result in the final printed book. If you have text in your graphic, use a point size of 11 or more in your graphics, nothing smaller. Our customer satisfaction is quite high, but you should be aware that we cannot guarantee your images will appear as you might expect-particularly photographic images. If you are providing graphics that are older, blurry, fuzzy, too dark or light, then please note that when they are printed in your book, they may not always reproduce well. There may also be some variance between print runs. **Any variation from these guidelines may cause a delay. You may even have to resubmit your manuscript. If you have any questions, please contact the Pre-Production team toll-free at 1-866-3812665. They can help you with answers and help you prepare your manuscript.
