Commentary
Obama and NASA
In the late 1980's, students were told, "If the development of the space station progresses as planned, it will be manned and orbiting Earth by the late 1990's. Within fteen years of that date, a working community may be operational on the moon. Further plans project a manned ight and landing on Mars by the year 2015." Lessons were developed to create an awareness of important historical events occurring as a new age of exploration was unfolding. These lessons also created excitement, not only in the areas of math and science, but also in many areas of developing problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, including other intellectual and academic areas as well. Robert Goddard, a rocket pioneer, said, "Real progress is not a leap in the dark, but a succession of logical steps." And that is exactly what NASA did with every ight. As new information was gained, new materials were created, manufactured, tested, and new ights and experiments were planned and implemented constantly as we moved onward in a new "age of exploration and discovery." The space program stimulated "spin-o " technologies, products, and materials too numerous to mention here. But all of us have bene tted, whether from medical, environmental, computer technologies, or a multitude of others you can nd online. Since 2010, we have witnessed the end of the Shuttle missions, the "elimination of two proposed joint missions with Europeans to explore Mars in 2016 and 2018." President Obama assured workers two years ago that their work on the Constellation Program would continue but he then decided to cancel it. Consequently, thousands of people are out of work, towns are becoming ghost towns as businesses and schools close, homes are lost, and workers say the president lied to them. Further, since the shuttle was retired, NASA now pays Russia about $60 million per person to transport our astronauts to the International Space Station the United States was instrumental in building. (Has this helped Russia fund and create the #1 ghter plane in the world? Check it out... SU-30-Vectored Thrust...") President Obama told the current NASA Administrator to " nd a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with predominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science, math, and engineering." The former administrator rightfully terms this "a perversion of NASA's purpose." While "President Obama has sneered at the idea of American exceptionalism," there is nothing that shouts out American exceptionalism more than our space exploration. NASA inspired teachers by sharing information and o ering training opportunities. This in turn led to stimulating student learning and achievement. It is a sad day in America when its president can defeat such a positive and superb program. Finally, a bit of advice I once heard: "Aspire to Inspire before you Expire." Let's all do this by carefully selecting, promoting, and voting for new American leadership in all who we can believe will represent us and care about this country! Mary "Responda" here...promoting our Christian nation!

Food for Thought

Charles Anderson Dana (1819-1897) was the editor-in-chief of the New York Sun, one of the largest newspapers in the country, and considered by many the most brilliant journalist in the country at that time. He wrote: I believe in Christianity, that it is the religion taught to men by God Himself in person on earth. I also believe the Bible to be a Divine revelation. Christianity is not comparable with any other religion. It is the religion which came from Gods own lips. The incarnation is a fact, and Christianity is based on revealed truth. There are some books that are absolutely indispensable to the kind of education that we are contemplating, and to the profession that we are now considering: and of all these, the most indispensable, the most useful, the one whose knowledge is most e ective, is the Bible. I wonder how our forefathers would react to the fact that the Bible is no longer allowed in our public schools and, in 2012, we have a President who has proclaimed we are not a Christian nation?

s March comes in like a lion, we have lost one of our own. The ever courageous Andrew Breitbart has passed away. His passion for truth has awakened us time after time. May we never let go of the ght for liberty in our nation which he cared for so much. Our hearts have been touched by someone truly special. Let us pray for his family. As Andrew addressed CPAC 2012 launching the year, we had our own CRP Convention last week in Burlingame, featuring Newt Gingrich, Herman Cain, Michael Reagan and Tim Pawlenty enthusiastically stirring the event! Andrew knew that this election was the most important in our lifetime. We constantly nd ourselves pushed against the wall with so many parts of America being attacked - now China is currently in Canada making deals for oil. Pray we never see a pipeline from Alberta to the Paci c Ocean with Chinese tankers in port loading up! The Bakken formation is 1.5 trillion barrels, far bigger than Saudi Arabia reserves. It is essential to work with our sister nation, Canada, and create 22,000 jobs. Also, if Obama stops the ow of the Alaska pipeline, it will render that pipeline useless as it must remain continuous. Write the President a message about these issues and gas prices~ he wants Europes prices: this just may happen. With our current President spending $63,000 per second, this election cannot come soon enough. We must elect the strongest President in November, keep the House, win the Senate, defeat Obamacare and rescue the nation! Our elders and children are depending on us. With our focus on the perpetual campaign for president, we forget that many races are just beginning. In fact, local ling deadlines are this month on March 9th. June 5, 2012, Presidential Primary Election California Voter Registration Deadlines: Your registration must be postmarked no later than: May 21, 2012 Consider walking in your absentee ballot to the elections o ce at least two weeks early, or even changing to make sure your vote is counted properly. We want fair elections. To that end, we are putting together a GOTV (Get Out The Vote) Team - get in touch with Jean Giannini for details. Once the candidates have led - our job begins - what can we do to help them get elected? Republican women are the boots on the ground - sign up to help walk precincts/ phone bank for your favorite candidate. Write letters to the editor, weigh in on Facebook and Twitter (yes, reporters actually cover who has the most "friends"), help with, and attend, campaign fundraisers... running for o ce is a grueling process, and they need our support. Humboldt County

Candidate for 1st District Supervisor

Living in Humboldt County and District 1 for thirty-three years has taught me about the quality of life residents cherish. Sadly, many families in the district are struggling to nd jobs that pay a living wage and have all but given up hope of owning a home in the area. It does not have to be this way. Our county is home to an abundance of compassionate, generous, can-do people who are resilient, courageous, and bright. Together, we can build a strong, vital economy in Humboldt County. It is my promise that your voice will be heard and that I will work for you and our community, building without destroying, and strengthening without compromising the quality of life we all enjoy. With your help, we can move Humboldt County forward together. If you have any District 1 issues you would like to discuss, please don't hesitate to call me at the campaign o ce 707-476-0531, or send me an email from the Contact page. I look forward to hearing from you.

This months topic is the Alinsky Model for transforming our society and how the Democrat Party was and is the pansy being used to accomplish this. Column space doesnt allow an in-depth study, but I o er the Alinsky plan in a nutshell. You should further your understanding by reading David Horowitzs 51-page booklet, Barack Obamas Rules for Revolution The Alinsky Model. (Gwen Morris handed out copies [thanks to Mary Goldenberger] at our Feb. 16th meeting.) Pass it on. Saul Alinsky, 1909-1972, grew up in Chicago and aligned with the boot-legging mob. Al Capone was his mentor. His second-in-command, Frank Nitti, took over when Capone was sentenced to prison for tax evasion. Alinsky aligned with the mob because they had POWER and gaining power is the most important goal in realizing Alinskys perfect society. He is dead but his evil ways are alive and well today in many prominent people who hold positions of high power and/or in uence. Alinsky and his radical followers have hidden behind many di erent names Communists, socialists, new leftists, liberals, social justice activists and, most consistently, progressives. On the dedicatory page of his Rules for Radicals, Alinsky wrote Lest we forget, an over-the-shoulder acknowledgement to the very rst radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves o and history begins or which is which), the rst radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so e ectively that he at least won his own kingdom---Lucifer. Alinsky believed that Americas institutions, governmental and societal, are wrong, dead wrong from his perception of what a heaven on Earth should be: that it is correct to destroy them or anyone who stands in his way. When Progressives say they are at war with someone or something, that is exactly what they mean. No action is unjust for their purposes. Republicans are just now realizing the extent of the Progressive hate for anything that opposes their agenda. Knowing this gives us insight into how Progressives can support partial-birth abortion and refuse medical care for babies who survive, embrace Obamacare with its rationing and euthanasia, and their endorsement of environmental policies that even condemn human life. Remember the re ghters in the Southwest who were allowed to burn to death because the Forest Service was not allowed to dump water on them from a nearby stream that contained some endangered species? I remember the newscast and later when Bush took o ce and said that would never be allowed to happen again. Knowing all this makes understanding views of people like Nancy Pelosi, Hillary and Bill Clinton, Al Gore, the Czars, and Barack Obama a bit easier. Honestly, what can you expect from people who follow a hating radical who in his dedicatory page gave a shout out to Satan? The Progressive Party nally formed to oppose an America-loving and Communist-hating Democrat, Harry Truman. The party chose another of FDR's many vice presidents, Henry Wallace, to run against Truman. Wallace had no problem with Communism and actually supported it. Progressives continued working, often stealthily, over the years. They joined the 1972 McGovern presidential campaign by creating a hundred-plus member Progressive Caucus in the congressional party and the ascension of Barack Obama to the presidency, have become its most important political force. The 1972 election year was the turning point in the transformation of the Democrat Party. Many clueless current Democrats still believe their party represents the little people in society. Actually, as most Republicans and conservatives recognize, the Democrat Party is using the little people as pawns in their quest for ultimate power. Using class warfare, blaming the evil rich, and creating multiple give-away programs, shores up their growing and ever more hopeless base The demolition of the middle class is a purposeful plan by the evil rich Progressive leaders, who have gamed the system for themselves. Thats exactly what community organizers do. Progressive paradise will be many, many little people on the bottom of society with their meager lives controlled by the much fewer, powerful, ultra-rich Progressive leaders at the top. Ever wonder how Obama can spend so much of our tax dollars on himself? He sees himself as one of the entitled Progressives already at the top of the heap. Obama will utilize any tool, any method, any means to get reelected. He never met Saul Alinsky in person but hes deeply steeped in Alinskys beliefs and methods. Thats what the Chicago years were all about. Obama uses Alinskys most basic principle (and most e ective, in my opinion) to attain his goalslie to their opponents and disarm them by pretending to be moderates and liberals." Be forewarned! The Progressive machine will stop at nothing to destroy the rest of us.

The food stamp program, part of the Dep't. of Agriculture, is pleased to be distributing the highest number of food stamps ever. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river. ~Nikita Khrushchev Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber. ~Plato Politics is the gentle art of getting votes from the poor and campaign funds from the rich, by promising to protect each from the other. ~Oscar Ameringer A politician is a fellow who will lay down your life for his country. ~Texas Guinan Any American who is prepared to run for president should automatically, by de nition, be disquali ed from ever doing so. ~Gore Vidal Instead of giving a politician the keys to the city, it might be better to change the locks. ~Doug Larson Don't vote, it only encourages them. ~Author Unknown

Ironic, isn't it?

nce again the Sacramento politicians and powerful special interests are attempting to subvert the will of the people and sabotage the publics support for strong term limits for State Legislators. They tried it before with Proposition 93 in 2008. Now Jerry Brown and his special interest cronies are at it again. They have maneuvered the cynical and misleading Proposition 28 on the June ballot and it would dramatically increase the time that politicians can hold legislative o ce. Since voters will probably not receive an honest and complete description of the initiative, the proposition may pass even though Californians have a strong support for term limits. California Common Sense and Stanford Institute for Economics and Policy Research published a new report on local pension systems, February 21, showing that the largest independent systems are over $130 billion in debt. Studies and warnings seem to go unheeded among our elected o cials.

Andrew Breitbart
(1969-2012)

The conservative movement has lost a powerful voice in the ght to protect our freedom. Andrew Breitbart was a pioneer in using social media and digital technology to bring a courageous conservative message to Americas grassroots. He did something many in the conservative movement are afraid to do - go right at the left and not back down. Andrew served as an example to the rest of the conservative movement of how to ght for our values without apology or compromise. American Majority God bless you, Andrew. Rest in peace, friend. We will continue the ght. Sarah Palin I still see him in my minds eye in Venice Beach, the sunny day I met him. He was in his mid 20s. It was all there. He had a wonderful, loving family and we all feel great sadness for them today. MDRUDGE
