2 Get tons of organizing resources and join our online community at www.ssc.org 2 Find an SSC group in your area by contacting info@ssc.org or calling 202.548.6592. 2 Sign-up to be a Campus or Community Organizer for an existing or new group. Organizers receive support to build organizations and run campaigns. 2 Register to be a Community Coordinator and build power through networking and communication between groups in your area. 2 Attend one of our week-long grassroots organizing training programs (SPROGs) this summer and learn to lead strategic environmental campaigns that make a difference. The Sierra Student Coalition is the nations largest grassroots youth environmental organization and the youth-run chapter of the Sierra Club.
WHAT WE DO
Mobilize young people to run national, state and local campaigns to protect the environment, implement clean energy and climate solutions and promote environmental justice.

MAJOR CAMPAIGNS
Making our schools and institutions more sustainable: SSC students have reduced global warming emissions on over 100 campuses with renewable energy, efficiency and green transportation projects, including system-wide victories such as getting all 15 University of Maryland institutions committed to reducing their emissions to zero. Fighting dirty energy and creating climate solutions in our communities: In West Virginia, students are fighting mountaintop removal coal mining in solidarity with directly affected communities, while in other parts of the country students are joining the battle against new coal and other dirty energy facilities. In the Twin Cities, Minn. and Portland, Ore., young people are working with community organizations to create local energy efficiency co-ops that will save people energy and money. Getting our states to lead the way: Students at Washington University in St. Louis and across Missouri gathered support and media to get a Renewable Energy ballot initiative passed that will significantly increase wind power generation. Mobilizing for national and international solutions: Were engaging with our leaders across the country to demand bold action to safeguard our future and the climate, and re-engage with the international community to ensure we tackle global challenges together.

Develop leaders through our award-winning grassroots organizing training programs each summer and throughout the year at state and regional summits as well as through formal mentorship and Fellowship programs for young people who want more direct support.

Provide resources including campaign tool-kits, peer-to-peer training and support, media kits and publicity materials, guides to building a group, connections to your local Sierra Club and more!
