Mark M. Murakami, Program Chair, a Director with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert, practices in the firms Dispute Resolution and Real Estate and Construction practice groups. He focuses on complex commercial disputes, land use negotiation and litigation, environmental and general civil litigation. James E. Hallstrom, Jr., MAI, CRE, is President of Hallstrom Group, Inc., a team of real estate consultants, appraisers, and other personnel providing professional arbitration, valuation, and market study services. He frequently serves as an arbitrator and mediator, and is a contributing author to the Hawaii Real Estate Investor. Jerry Iwata currently serves as the Real Estate Acquisition Manager for the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation, a semi-autonomous public transit authority to oversee the planning, construction, operation and extension of Honolulus rail system. James A. Kawachika is a partner with OConnor Playdon & Guben LLP. His practice has emphasized civil and commercial litigation, including business, real estate, trust, personal injury and professional liability litigation, and arbitrations and mediations, throughout his legal career. Gregory W. Kugle, a Director with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert, concentrates his practice in the area of litigation. He works in the areas of commercial disputes and business litigation, construction, land use and real estate, antitrust, product liability and personal injury, aviation, bankruptcy, admiralty and insurance coverage. James K. Mee, LEED AP, a partner at Ashford & Wriston LLP, has practiced with the firm since 1982. He focuses his practice on real estate transactions, property rights litigation, land use, estates and trusts, Hawaiian rights, and appeals, and has served as the landowner representative to the Hawaii State Leasehold Forum. Anna H. Oshiro, a Director with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert, has represented construction organizations, developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and design professionals in reviewing and drafting construction contracts, as well as in all forums of dispute resolution. Jesse K. Souki, Director of the State of Hawaii Office of Planning, practices in the areas of environmental law, government & administrative law, land use law, municipal law, real estate law and transportation law. He previously served as Deputy Corporation Counsel, City and County of Honolulu. Robert H. Thomas, a Director with Damon Key Leong Kupchak Hastert, focuses on issues involving appeals, regulatory takings, eminent domain, water rights, land use, shoreline issues, navigational servitudes and voting rights. He is also the Managing Attorney for the Pacific Legal Foundation Hawaii Center.
