BASKETBALL RULES GENERAL RULES

SPORTSMANSHIP FIRST Eligibility Date for Midget, Pee Wee, 12 & Under and 13 & Under- December 1, 2011 Eligibility Date for 15 and 18 & Under- March 1, 2011 No GRACE period on any games. Only two coaches and players on roster are allowed on the bench. Any coach or player ejected from a game the first time will be suspended for two games (not allowed in the facility while the games are being played). Any coach or player ejected from a game the second time is suspended for the rest of the year with a meeting to be held to determine if and/or when the coach should be allowed to coach in our leagues again. The above two (2) rules apply to parents and spectators as well. Please have your team ready to step onto the court immediately after the preceding game. We MUST remain on time. Please submit your line-up to the scorers table 15 minutes before your scheduled game time. Line-ups MUST have first and last name on the official score sheet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FACILITY MANAGERS are responsible for the actions of your volunteer coaches. All volunteer coaches must have a volunteer coach form on file. Any recreation centers caught using illegal players will be disciplined!!! THIS CAN BE TIME OFF WITHOUT PAY!! Any verbal or physical abuse by Chattanooga Parks & Recreation employees of a player, coach, official, or fan WILL BE CONSIDERED UNSPORTSMANLIKE and will result in time off.

ALL ROSTERS ARE FROZEN AFTER GAME THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MIDGET (5 & 6)
6 minute quarters running clock except for the last minute of the first half and the last two minutes of the game. Timeouts (3) 2 Full and 1 30 sec. Tie Breakers: #1 Head to head; #2 Points scored; #3 Points given up; and #4 Point Differential 15 Point max. Forfeit score 10-0. No one can foul out. Must guard the person with the same colored wrist band you have. No double teaming outside the paint. Two (2) coaches are allowed on the floor. No guarding in backcourt at all. Playing time: Every Player listed on the Game Sheet and present in the Gym must play at least 1 time during each half of the game unless excused due to illness, injury, late arrival, or for disciplinary reasons. Game Officials and the Coach of the opposing team must be informed of any of the above conditions prior to the start or during the game. The condition must be noted on the official Game Sheet. The Coach is responsible for ensuring this rule is adhered to. Failure to comply with this rule will result in forfeiture of the game. Coaches are encouraged to play all Players for an equal amount of time per game. NO OVERTIME.

PEE WEE (7 & 9)


6 minute quarters running clock except for the last minute of the first half and the last two minutes of the game. Timeouts (4) 2 Full and 2 30 sec. Tie Breakers: #1 Head to head; #2 Points scored; #3 Points given up; and #4 Point Differential 15 Point max. Forfeit score 15-0. Overtime period is three (3) minutes. No guarding in backcourt for the first three quarters. Teams up by 20 points or more must play zone and cannot play defense in backcourt. Personal fouls don't accumulate on players until the second half. Playing time: Every Player listed on the Game Sheet and present in the Gym must play at least 1 time during each half of the game unless excused due to illness, injury, late arrival, or for disciplinary reasons. Game Officials and the Coach of the opposing team must be informed of any of the above conditions prior to the start or during the game. The condition must be noted on the official Game Sheet. 12 & UNDER
8 minute quarters running clock except for the last minute of the first half and the last two minutes of the game. Timeouts (4) 2 Full and 2 30 sec. Tie Breakers: #1 Head to head; #2 Points scored; #3 Points given up; and #4 Point Differential 15 Point max. Forfeit score 25-0. Overtime period is four (4) minutes. Teams up by 20 points or more cannot play defense in backcourt

13 & UNDER GIRLS


8 minute quarters running clock except for the last minute of the first half and the last two minutes of the game. Timeouts (4) 2 Full and 2 30 sec. Tie Breakers: #1 Head to head; #2 Points scored; #3 Points given up; and #4 Point Differential 15 Point max. Forfeit score 20-0. Overtime period is four (4) minutes. Teams up by 20 points or more must play zone and cannot play defense in backcourt.

15 & UNDER
2-18 minute HALVES running clock except for the last minute of the first half and the last two minutes of the game. Time-outs (4) 2 Full and 2 30 sec. Tie Breakers: #1 Head to head; #2 Points scored; #3 Points given up; and #4 Point Differential 15 Point max. Forfeit score 30-0. Overtime period is five (5) minutes.

18 & UNDER
2-20 min HALVES running clock except the last minute of the first half and the last two minutes of the game. Timeouts (4) 2 Full and 2 30 sec. Tie Breakers: #1 Head to Head; #2 Points scored; #3 Points given up; and #4 Point Differential 15 Point max. Forfeit score 40-0. Overtime period is five (5) minutes.

UNIFORMS
All teams must wear jerseys with numbers, preferably on the front and back. If you dont have shorts please encourage your team to wear shorts that are the same color. Tee shirts worn by teams MUST be the same color and are limited to the following colors: black, white, beige or a single solid team color. (Ex. If one wears white, everyone that wears a tee shirt must wear white). All shirts must be tucked inside at all times. PENALTY-removal from game All shorts MUST BE worn above the waist. PENALTY- removal from game
