LIGHTING AND DOOR LOCK SYNCHRONIZATION WITH FINGERPRINT FEATURE

ABSTRACT
The importance of home power efficiency and household security are being addressed in this research compared to the old and traditional living systems, home automation would be very practical for houses that are always left unattended. So, the researcher created a practical implementation of a home automation system that will save electricity by setting off the lightings automatically when the owner is out of the house and would also be a part of a reliable security system. In this modern era, efficiency of things can be considered to be one of the most important things to be taken note to. Perhaps, everyone wants to save as much as one could. This in particular could pertain to budget, resources, or just keeping clean and green to be. As with such reasons, automation became the answer to such but it cannot be help but to assume that the presently available design of automation is just so complex as to where a less complicated solution for conservation of electricity can be the answer to such simple problem. Ensuring of cost efficiency and security are the biggest advantage of automation and to this extent, a device is propose to create a simple automation for general use and it is to be called Lighting and Door Lock Synchronization With Finger Print Feature.

III. SYSTEM OPERATION

The Lighting and Door Lock Synchronization with Finger Print Feature
shall ensure the simplicity and the factors of Home Automation while providing the basic criteria of a full Home Automation. It is an automation system consisted of several sensors and a main finger print scanner panel to create an easy and cheap automation aimed to fit for middle class earning home owners. The finger print scanner shall be used as a mainframe for the system while the sensors, such as photo resistors and PIR, shall be the trigger for the mainframe and thus, becoming its inputs. Given the Operational Block Diagram, it is best to specifics of the respective systems that would be used for the overall system.

I. INTRODUCTION In the current era, there are several competing home automation
systems in the market but none of them has gained competitive advantage over others. Technologies are available but there are no standard practices among designers, contractors and installers to realize the systems. Lack of regulation of electrical design has lowered the quality of electrical documentation and electrical contractors often receive inadequate designs based on which they are expected to realize the home automation systems. The electrical designers are not responsible over their documentation leaving the contractors liable for the realization of the system. Closely looking into the current setting, it can be observed that exaggeration of home automation design causes problem within it. Specifically, it could be taken as a disadvantage that it is only available in Full home design and to which it is no longer available for common use. It is either too complex to be installed, too expensive to be used or even both. Now, the problem arises when the answer to convenience is no longer convenient itself.

II. OVERVIEW OF THE SYSTEM

There are several ways to resolve the problem regarding power saving,
convenience and home security. It could be manually done or even devised upon depending on the choice of the user. A human-centered design would mean that it is supposed to be applicable for the use of majority. So the basic problem would be of what is the most preferable system in the house that should be manipulated in order to create the most practical solution. Leaving behind the complexity of household lighting automation, it is the most basic part of automation since other than the lightings, other appliances at home would not be left unattended while operating. An example to this is the television to which a person would not intend to leave the television turned on and instead, make sure that it is kept quiet as one would leave it be. In addition, some appliances like the refrigerator are preferably to be left operating while the home owners go outdoors. With these factors, it is only basic to turn off only the house lightings while home owners leave the place. It could be seen that Home Automation serves as the most profound solution and the research shall take its step into. With such, the thesis shall create a Home Automation System but would take a simpler structure of it since the complexity of home automation only brings forth more expenses. Figure 2: Operational Block Diagram The functions of individual devices are summarized as follows: Finger Print Scanner The finger print scanner panel shall provide a security component for the house since it shall be the lock trigger also for the house but to an extent that usage of mechanical keys would not be disregarded. Also, it shall be used as a mainframe for the whole home automation. Electromagnetic Lock The Electromagnetic Lock serves as the automated lock for the system. It shall be controlled by the Finger Print Scanner. Exit Button The exit button is to be used whenever the user shall be going outdoors. Inverter The inverter shall provide the 220V supply needed for the Motion Detector.

Presence Detector/ IR Sensor Presence Detector is one of the two (2) types of sensors that shall be used in the thesis. Presence detector shall determine whether a room is in use or not. This shall create one of the automation components of the thesis system. Daylight Sensor / Photo Resistor The Daylight Sensor shall determine the need for room light by determining the illumination in the room. However, the photo resistor circuit is used for the thesis system since it shall basically create a lot of savings for the users. Also, its availability only generates better feasibility for the components. Power Supply Box / Control Box Consisted of the system slot for power supply intended for the items from where such items would be automated. The control box shall basically contain the relays intended for a house floor. 3.6.6 3.6.7 Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) The UPS shall provide as a 1day emergency battery for the device. Also, it shall be the power supply and regulator for the biometrics panel.

Figure 3: Overall System Flowcharts of the Actual System Flow Figure 3 represents the flow when verification of user takes place for the finger print scanner. It also represents the flow of decision making for the system whether a light should turn on or not. The flow starts as the finger print panel is supplied with power. The users then manually inputs his/her finger print for verification. Upon a verification of unregistered user, the finger print panel monitor shall prompt the user about an unregistered user. As the finger print scanner panel finishes its startup, it shall also start serving as the power supply for the other sensors and therefore, the synchronization of the system starts. The first part is the activation of the daylight sensor for the terrace lighting. It shall trigger the lights ON or OFF without variable changes. This part also shares power with the Passive InfraRed Light which shall trigger the automation of several components including the photo resistor within the house. But, keeping in track with the PIR, it detects the presence of humans within the particular room of the house. Also, besides the control for activation of the photo resistor, it shall also be an automation for ON/OFF interface of some electrical sockets if the user desires so as for his house. Last is the photo resistor which is located within the house and preferably together with the PIR in each room. This shall control the lightings within the house and control its brightness to fit with the preference of the home owner. Take note that unless there is human presence detected within a room, the photo resistors will not turn on the lights too.

IV. CONCLUSION
The system developed could ensure the efficiency of home lighting usage since lighting could be very well taken care of by the home automation system developed by the researchers. Lost key would never be a problem since the system uses the finger print scanner and at the same time it provided a better security because no house intruder could alter the unlocking method. The system could ensure the homeowner that their house would never look unattended thus; intruders would be discouraged to enter the house. Furthermore based on the item cost data sheet the system is obviously cheaper than the existing home automation system making it affodable for the middle class families.
