Let`s light on hanukkah!

Project`s idea
The action involves all 50 cities, which have RJYC branches. As more as possible people will learn about the history and traditions of the celebration of Hanukkah during the ceremony to light Hanukkah candles. We offer activists in each city to go to orphanages gerontological centers, hospitals, clinics, museums libraries cinemas universities shopping malls, etc. (define for yourself what you are closer to).

Teach other people to play with a Sevivion

Hand out leaflets with information about what Hanukkah is

Hand out donuts and fritters

In addition, project participants are invited to continue the action at home: install Hanukkah candles on windowsills. Every night for eight days, candles will illuminate the windows of the houses as a symbol of the unity of Jews, purification and the all good. If we all support the action, (more than 5,000 Jewish youth members from different parts of Russia) then Hanukkah and Jewish traditions in each city will be able to find representatives of different nations living in Russia.

Project`s results
Forming a positive image of Jewish people through acquaintance with their culture and traditions; The union of Jewish youth under joint work on the preparation and implementation of a socio-cultural project; Increasing knowledge of Jewish youth about Hanukkah, implementation of the commandments. Increasing interest of adolescents in social projects. Supporting creativity in young people. Enhancing the role of youth participation in the formation of ideas of tolerance.

Information about the campaign will be circulated in the media before and after the celebration of Hanukkah.

Implementation plan
STAGE I Creating groups of participants in social networks Determination of participating groups in 50 cities of Russia for providing the action Determination of the place of the campaign in 50 cities of Russia Negotiations with representatives of public organizations, business, media, culture on participation in the action; STAGE II Acquisition of candles. Making presentational products: flags and kippas with the logo of RJYC, leaflets about Hanukkah, making donuts. Developing a detailed program of action Negotiations with the management of institutions, which will be involved in the action. STAGE III Working with the media: Publication of all information about carrying out the action in your city on the RJYC website. Mailing press releases to news agencies, media, Internet portals, announcing the action and information about RJYC activity.
