Not all Guards Heavy Tank Regiments were equipped with
the IS-2 heavy tank during 1944. Many regiments were still
armed with KV-1s, KV-85 and Churchill heavy tanks. Tese
older equipped units were still engaged in action and fought
well, their thick armour still giving them ample protection
from most German guns.
However, as the year went on more and more Guards Heavy
Tank Regiments were re-equipped with the IS-2 heavy tank,
with only a few regiments left with older equipment by the
end of 1944.

Remember to use the Volley Fire special rule when fring
your 76mm ZIS-3 feld guns at teams within 16/40cm
while stationary.
Like many things in the Red Army, the artillery lacks subtlety.
On the other side of the equation, the Red God Of War
makes up for this in sheer weight of fre.
With an entire artillery battalion fring on a target, the efect
is usually predictablethe rapid cessation of hostile activity
and the quivering survivors wait to be mopped up by the
infantry.
Te lightweight and mobile 76mm ZIS-3 gun forms the
mainstay of the artillery, with the heavier 122mm obr 1938
giving its bombardments truly destructive force.
