IMPLICATIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS Implications A. Student Exposure Intensive Nursing Practicum is indeed an intellectual battle for the level four nursing students. It is one of the major milestone a senior nursing student must be accomplished. This time, students skills, knowledge and as well as attitudes were tested, to determine if students are fit and competent enough to handle real to life nursing situations, and deal with it as a professional. As the course description says, students are now given a chance to shadow real staff nurses, work with them and treat each moment as a comprehensive training as a preparation to the future. This course is indeed a challenge, which only the fittest could hurdle. Integral part of this exposure is the head nursing wherein the students were given the opportunity to practice their management and leadership skills. Concepts and theories which are thought inside the four corners of the room are now applied in the clinical set-up where real staff must be motivated and directed and real costumers must be satisfied. Students must perform the five management process from planning to control. Students are practiced to do plans, learn to organize staff, learn how to lead a team and evaluate their individual performances. Students were able to appreciate the essence of management which is truly a dynamic and unpredictable process, wherein as a leader or manager sound decision making and optimism are the keys to success. Recommendations The authors would like to suggest some upgrading ideas to improve and lead the following institutions for betterment with regards on catering clinical exposure such Intensive Nursing Practicum. A. Student Exposure It was recommended that more exposure hour must be given for the students to practice more of the task and responsibilities of the head nurse and staff nurse. Also, limiting the chance of head nursing in one time experience is not that effective in developing the leadership and management skill of the student. Double or triple rotation may do to give each student a task to improve his skills. Another is that level four students must manage level two or level four students so that authority is evidently present. Not unlike when you handle your batch mates as your subordinates wherein authority and power is not that implied.

B. School/ College of Nursing The school must do something about scheduling of the duties and setting the Intensive Nursing Practicum as early as possible so that it will reduce the burdens to the students and as well give them more time with this kind of exposure since it is very educational and effective in developing competence of the student nurses. Moreover, the college must implement this type of exposure to the succeeding batches since the feedback of the exposure is good and it might surpass as well as improve the result of the previous batch.

C. Hospital The M. V. Santiago medical Center is highly commended for it hospital administration and nursing service. It is definitely one of the training grounds that provides ideal clinical set-up. The only problem seen in the institution is that some of the staff nurses are rude and ill-mannered, that is why it recommended that a meeting must be organized to talk about counseling for those staff nurses. Another is that, as part of proper nursing decorum, staff nurses must wear nurses cap during their duty in the hospital.
