The eight drunken immortals swordplay mode in wudang came from the mien of eight immortals
in Taoism (Han Zhongli, Lu Dongbing, Tie Guaili, Zhang Guolao, He Xian'gu, Lan Chaihe, Cao
Guojiu, Han Xiangzi). In the swordplay, the body is drunken but not steps; steps drunken but not
mind; mind drunken but not spirit. Body waves about from the left to the right, like clouds when
slow; like rushing thunder when rapid. Hardness getting together with softness, it is hard to
distinguish whether false or true. Cantus says:" full of oddity, it turned over, birds flushed away; it
not moistened when rolling on the floor; slow like light wind without seeing the sword; within the
innumerable changes, sword light seen but not people." Practicing the sword as if the miens of the
eight immortals when drunk; the sword techniques are easily changeable, its postures like
swimming dragon playing the pearls. Wudang disciple named You Xiaolong demonstrated this
routine of sword, coached by the fourteenth generation headmaster of wudang Internal Boxing
---You Xuande.

After the foundation of P.R.C., the National Physical Committee compiled a Long Fist
according to different styles of various fist such as cha, hua, pao, spring-leg and shaolin.
The modern Long Fist took in essence of various fist, formalized the hand stance, hand
technique, foot stance, foot technique, leg technique, balancing, springing, etc, and in
accordant with Long Fist sports way, complied various fist-weapon routines covering
scurrying, springing, shrinking, dodging, spreading, soaring etc, to make them into basic
martial-arts training and national martial-arts performance for competition.
It shows the martial arts of Long Fist waves-like moving, mountain-like standing, ape-like
getting up, pigeons-like falling, pine-like standing, cock-like holding, wheel-like twisting,
bow-like folding, wind-like speed etc. it is gracefully spreading, nimble, quick, long-arm,
eye-contacting, Qi-channeled vigorous, and harmonious alternation between gentleness
and force, quickness and slowness, and rhythmically distinct. It is especially good for
teenagers to practice.

techniques, such as circle cudgel, pull cudgel, tilt cudgel, poke cudgel and uppercut with cudgel, and
combined with the footwork and foot form. The movements are natural and simple, the attack and
defend techniques are well arranged and regarded as the standard in this filed. When practicing, the

The Eighteen Arhat Skills is one of the first elementary boxing series in Shaolin Kung fu. According to
the Shaolin boxing manual: in the dynastic of Sui, the kung fu monks had selected and edited a simple
series of boxing that didn't have too much exercise. It was for the Buddhist monks who sit in meditation
facing the wall for long time. At first, they selected one movement respectively from the eighteen
Buddhist arhats bronze statues, and it was called The Eighteen Arhat Skills. Later, it was developed into
a complete wushu routine, and it was also called The Eighteen Arhat Skills. It mostly consisted of
postures of retreating, turning, dodging, shrinking and so on to avoid the attacking of the opponent. The
postures can be used skillfully to attack the enemy's upper part and defend his own lower part, attack
the enemy's left part and defend his right part. You can also use both attacking and defending postures,
false and true postures. You can achieve such aims: When you are attacking, you won't expose your
shortcomings; when you are defending, you can find a chance to attack; when you face a stronger
enemy, you won't be beaten; when you face a weaker enemy, you are sure to win. At the same time, pay attention to the
coordination of the leg, elbow and the body. Pay special attention to the eyesight. Be sure that in every movement, the eyesight
goes with the hands and the eyesight goes as one movement begins. Use your eye to decide which posture to practise before you
start a move, and use your eye to settle the strategy after you have come out a posture. These are the clever ways of practicing the
Eighteen Arhat Skills.

Tongbei Fist has a long history and wide popularization in traditional martial arts. It
was first called Straight-line Arm, mainly in the straight-line ape shape and single
beating, aiming at increasing arm power. Its main features are gentleness, blending
between gentleness and force, and back-force technique, as well as long-distance
shooting and preemptive measures.

Shaolin Elementary Changquan is one of the first elementary boxing series in Shaolin

for Shaolin Kungfu beginners. Its stance includes closing step, horse step,

This sword play was created and passed on by Bodhidharma , the first India monk

Zen means meditation. This sword is performed as if sitting in meditation. Attacks are

abstract the essential skills of the Shaolin Wushu, and taught it to 26 Wushu monks, then set 13 toll-gates
with each toll-gates guarded by two Wushu monks, and stipulated that any monk or common disciple who
wanted to go out from the mountain must beat the monks who guarded the toll-gates at first, otherwise, he
must accept the punishment of joss sticks kneeling and make more efforts to learn skills. These postures
which were used for guarding the toll-gate gradually formed Taolu---The Shaolin Thirteen-routine Special
Quan.
The characteristic of this boxing is: simple movement, agile change, strict posture, quick footwork, and

Shaolin Special Fist originated from a Buddhist monk called Fuju in Song dynasty. He

Single-whip Jiuzhu Boxing belongs to Sichuan Shengmen school. The
boxing features the forceful, fast, agile and solid movements on high stakes. It's

In the middle period of Qing dynasty, Ma Chaozhu, a criminal wanted by the imperial
court, brought Henan Shaolin Boxing into Sichuan. This boxing pays more attention to

with softness. Technically, it focuses on capture, close strike, leaning, shoveling, striking
and capturing while attaching importance to the principles of overwhelming and blocking.
