Hand-Carved Olive Wood Gifts from the Holy Land

Proceeds benefit Catholic schools in the Holy Land. There are more than 600 Christian families living in Bethlehem and are completely dependent on carving olive wood figurines for their livelihood. The recent clashes in the Middle East have stopped the tourism industry in Bethlehem, causing most of these families serious harm in earning their living and forcing many of them to leave their homeland. Emptying the land of Christ from Christians can have tragic consequences on the Holy sites. Issam from Star of Bethlehem Group came to the United States with a mission to help those families by selling their beautiful religious hand crafts. The cost of goods goes to benefit the Christian carvers to keep them working in the spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, the profit from sales goes directly to the needy Catholic schools and clinics in the Holy Land. Star of Bethlehem is approved by many Bishops, and from the Diocese of Jerusalem. Sale dates are March 10th & 11th. There will be a brief Welcome Gathering, Sunday, April 15, following 9:15 and 11:00am Masses. You are invited to join Fr. Jim, Fr. Thomson and our St. Dennis staff in the Rectory adjoining the Narthex. If you have joined the parish in the past year or two, or are considering doing so, stop in for a chance to meet, receive information, or ask questions. Please RSVP to the office: 838 2592, so that we will have refreshments enough for our group! Hope to see you there! New parishioner registration/census forms are available on our website or by calling the parish office. DIVORCED AND WIDOWED CONFERENCE On March 24, at St Charles Pastoral Center in Romeoville, Father Tony Taschetta, a retreat master and preacher, will address the divorced and widowed and those who care for them in a presentation, called Why So Weary? Lay Down Your Burdens and Be Set Free! The day begins at 9 a.m. and ends with 4 p.m. Mass, celebrated by Bishop Siegel, The $35 donation includes morning coffee, lunch and resource materials. Call Desiree Marciani (815-838-5334) for more information or see http://www.dioceseofjoliet.org/ familyministry for an electronic copy of the brochure.

Our Mission Statement St. Dennis is a welcoming, Spirit-led, Catholic Community called to be disciples of Christ, servants of those in need and celebrators of Gods love.

SACRAMENTS
Dear Family, We are all called to be healers. When Jesus said, Lay hands on the sick and be healed. He meant you and I, not just doctors. If you have never laid hands on someones shoulder, arm or head in prayer and asked the Holy Spirit to bring the healing presence of Jesus Christ, I encourage you to do so. For most of us the thought that may come to our minds is what if it doesnt work? Let me assure you that healing always happens, but sometimes not in the way we ask. I have also found that Gods Holy Spirit always shows up. We can also heal one another with our words of affirmation and love, words of kindness and compassion, and words of encouragement and hope. The greatest power to heal comes from loving one another. Enjoy your week of healing. The Lord wants to use you to bring His healing and love to others. In the Lords Love, Fr. Jim Curtin Reconciliation: Sat. 3:30-4:15 pm or Appt. Baptism Please call 815 838-2592 ext.123 to register and complete a Baptismal Request form. Marriage Please call 815 838-2592 ext.123 to Register, at least six months in advance.

we find God's power and wisdom where others would least expect them in Christ crucified. What may appear to some to be weakness and failure, we see as the sign and instrument of our salvation. Christ, indeed, died for our sins. But He also rose from the dead, offering us the hope of life everlasting in heaven.

Please pray for those who have entered into Eternal Life especially
