The purpose of this paper is to explain the leadership. First of all the meaning of leadership will be introduced.

afterwards what a leader does will be defined. Thirdly types of leadership styles and the challenges that leaders are facing will be explained. finally, the conclusion will have been written. There are many ways of looking at leadership and many interpretation of its meaning. According to Mullins (2005), it might be interpreted in simple terms, such as 'getting others to follow' or 'getting people to do things willingly', or interpreted more specifically, for example as 'the use of authority in decision-,making'. Leadership is often mentioned as one of the most important elements of an organization's ethical culture (Brown and Trevino 2006; Trevino 1990a. Leader who are perceived as being able to create and support an ethical culture in their organizations are those who represent, communicate, and role model high ethical standards (Brown 2005), emphasize attention to goals other than economic (Birdand Waters, 1989), and maintain a long-term view of relationships within and outside the organization. According to Mullins (2005), a leader must have 5 skills and and develop them as world changes : adaptability, building a successful team, communication, decision-making, and building positive working relationships. House (1971) states that there are four different types of leaderships styles. These were named as : Directive, Supportive, Participative, and Achievement-Oriented Leaderships. Types of Leadership Styles Directive Leadership Supportive Leadership Participative Leadership Explanation involves letting subordinates know exactly what is expected of them and giving specific directions. involves a friendly and approachable manner and displaying concern for the needs and welfare of subordinates. involves consulting with subordinates and the evaluation of their opinions and suggestions before the manager makes the decision. involves setting challenging goals for subordinates, seeking improvement in their performance and showing confidence in subordinates ability to perform well.

Achievement-Oriented Leadreship

Types of leadership styles are shown how leaders behave and act. However, as world changes leaders are facing new issues and problems. According to Robbins and Coulter (2007) these are

Managing power : Their capacity to influence their work actions, decisions and managing the group Developing trust : how difficult to develop a trustful personality toward employees Providing ethical leadership : How ethical leaders are. Ethical leader can be trustful and honest. Empowering employees : it involves increasing the decision-making discretion of workers. Cross-cultural leadership : National culture affects leadership style because it influences how followers will respond. Gender differences and leadership : It is depending on the leader's gender and how serious people will take him/her. The demise of celebrity leadership : Substitutes for leadership : To sum up, leadership is one of the most important part of an organization. Its mission, style, skill are the main source of the continuity of the business. In every part of the world, there are people who are being managed by the people who care about other's presence.
