To disassemble

Remove BS brake discs, one-way clutch F2 and (ff
front planetary gear
Place complete planetary gear assembly on interme-
diate shaft as illustrated and ease off brake pack and
front planetary gear assembly.

Remove front ring gear
Place ring gear on output shaft. |
Compress lock ring to release front ring gear.
Lift off front gear. ¢ q

Remove thrust washers from rear planetary
gear
(Washer (1) may remain fixed to front planetary
gear.)

BS} Separate input and output shafts
Y Place planetary gear to one side and pull intermediate
shaft in direction shown,

Remove bearing race and needle bearing from
output shaft j

(A) Remove bearing washer and needle bearing
Remove rear ring gear
Unclip lock ring with a screwdriver.

Remove rear bearing race (B) from intermediate
shaft

Remove oil sealing rings (3x) from output shaft
Unelip rings and lift off hub.

Remove thrust washer from front planetary gear

Remove brake pack
viz
Detach front planetary gear carrier from brake
pack thrust/reaction plate
Ease off planetary gear carrier from plate.

Cleaning and checking
VIS
Wash all parts excluding brake discs, in solvent
Use compressed air to clean/dry channels.
Do not use rags or wadding,

Check clutch discs
Check that discs are flat and not warped or damaged.
Min thickness, friction disc = 2.1 mm (0.83 in)
New thickness = 2.3 mm = (0.91 in)
