Leawood, KS (March 14, 2012) CBIZ Benefits & Insurance Services Inc., in conjunction with Edington Associates and the University of Michigan Health Management Research Center, is pleased to announce the winners of the FirstAnnual Edington Next Practice Awards. The Next Practice Award recognizes organizations that are actively engaged in the pursuit of a healthy, high-performing workplace and workforce. The Award specifically acknowledges companies that demonstrate unique approaches to improving the wellbeing of workplaces and employees, and excel in innovation and initiatives. Winners of the Next Practice Awards were selected based on the five pillars of successful pursuit of achieving a healthy work environment: 1) Senior Leadership, McCarthy Building Company; 2) Operational Leadership, Hastings Fiber Glass Products; 3) Self Leadership, Appriss and IBM; 4) Recognition and Rewards, Carlson; and 5) Quality Assurance, Cerner. Seven organizations were also selected as Great Beginnings Honorees. The Great Beginnings category recognizes organizations that are on the path to being honored as Next Practice Award winners. The 2012 Edington Next Practice Awards were given to the recipients on March 14 at the 31st Annual Wellness in the Workplace Conference held at the Sheraton Hotel in Ann Arbor, MI.
