Abstract: Pro fessor YU Zhen-hua's erudit e and perspicacious st udy analyzes t he leading Chinese
philosophical approaches since t he 1920s ; est abl ishes t hat they all agreed
met aphysical w isdom is possible ; and t hen com pares t heir diff er ent ideas about ho w to o bt ain t his w isdom . T hus he show s they all challeng ed t he leading West ern philoso phical t rend , t he Great Mo dern Epist emolo gical Revolut io n , w hich centered on lo gical po sit iv ism, et hical skept icism, and the reject ion of metaphy sics. Pro fessor Yu, how ever,
