VITEC Provides 50 Channels of HD Video to a New BRAC Site with Over 6500 Users

VITECs Optibase Video Encoding Platform is used to capture Conference Center briefings and a range of news and information channels for real-time and on-demand viewing over the campus network to over 6500 users. Sunnyvale, CA, March 15, 2012 --(PR.com)-- VITEC, a worldwide leader in advanced digital video solutions, today announced it has deployed it's Optibase MGWx100 platform in another large BRAC project enabling video feeds from the on campus conference center as well as Pentagon Cable Information Network(PCIN) and local news content to stream over the campus network. The new BRAC facility has a state of the art conference center which, by using the Optibase MGWx100 platform, allows briefings to be streamed live, recorded and played back either on-demand or scheduled for future viewing with the most up-to-date media solution available. A total of 50 channels of High Definition video content are available to the tenants of the newly constructed campus. VITEC's Optibase MGWx100 encoder was proposed by a major defense contractor that provided the system integration into the new campus and was selected because of the robust and scalable design of the system. The MGWx100 is a TRUE carrier grade system that supports multiple channels of video encoding while providing a single network interface saving ports on a network router, unlike competing products that require a network port per encoded channel. In addition, the system is reliable, provides pristine video quality and can be remotely managed. This deployment is an ideal example of how streaming video can save the Government a great deal of money by not having to manage a separate cable infrastructure, said Bob Stephens, Director of Federal Sales at VITEC. Our encoding platforms are cost effective for a single channel deployment and can scale much larger as our customers requirement increase while utilizing existing network equipment and avoiding costly upgrades or retrofits. VITEC's EZTV Enterprise IPTV System was also deployed within the enterprise virtual network and making a significant contribution to the award of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Gold rating from the U.S. Green Building Council. This makes it one of the federal government's largest projects to reach the coveted certification. For more information please visit www.vitecmm.com/Optibase.
