Dr. SRCISH as partner in conducting 42nd ISHCON. Dr. SRCISH as partner in conducting Indocleft International Conference (2010, 2011 and 2012) as part of Smile-train. We have introduced consultant based new OPD system from Jan 2010 where students get opportunity to develop individualized skills in counselling, empathy and appreciation towards Various intervention procedures, organizational skill in terms of flow and management of large no of cliental efficiency time management, leading to leadership qualities need for self employability and corporate behaviour. They learn to work as a part of a team which is all additional to regular curriculum activities.

Dr. S. R. Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing has dedicated faculty trying to impart education to students as effectively as possible. Updating their knowledge and skills periodically, the faculty adopts innovative teaching techniques and ensure to the extent possible. Some of them are: Introduction of flexi timings to staff members Introduction of Unit Based OPD system from 1.3.2011 A novel approach to help students who have problems in writing and reading skills. Introduction of Auditory Verbal Therapy Lab for cochlear implantees

Introduction of Mothers Training Centre for Mothers of Hearing Impaired children Use of computer to display text and graphical material Regular help to Police and judiciary on Sign Language Interpretation. Adopting Centres for Clinical facility under mutual understanding and entering into Memorandum of Understanding. Teacher student interaction is made optional by the use of technology. Some of the material provided by teachers can be accessed by students in their own time through internet, thereby freeing class time for enriched interact.

Encouraging peer teaching so that students learn from fellow students at PG level Making teaching learning process more learner-centered by giving students task completion, problem solving and other interactive activities. Regularly using audio-visual aids, models, charts, overhead projections in the clinic and at the class room. Research admissions are conducted every year through Entrance Test by Bangalore University. Evaluation by foreign adjudicators of Ph.D thesis is compulsory by Bangalore University. Unanimous decision of the adjudicators for the award of Ph.d is necessary. Organisation of seminars/conferences/workshops by institute. Payment of TA / DA to teachers for their presentation before funding bodies. Constitution of research Ethical Committee. Publication of Research Abstracts. Institution of Award for Women Achievers on the occasion of International Womens Day.
