PENGUIN'S PHILOSOPHY

Designed as a high performance unmanned airframe, Penguin B is one of the most capable airframes available today. With a small footprint of 3.3 meter wingspan, Penguin B can handle up to 11.5 kg of combined fuel and payload weight. Modular composite structure, fast assembly, large access hatches, removable payload bay, are the key features of the Penguin B innovative design. Available as an airframe ready for the autopilot and payload integration.

PERFORMANCE
Sleek and efficient design gives the best in class performance. Optimized for endurance, Penguin has enough internal volume to lift 7.5 liters of fuel which will provide 20+ hours endurance using efficient Honda 4 stroke engine. The optimized high lift flap system provides stall speeds of <13 m/s while giving excellent flight handling qualities due to a well designed V-tail geometry.

PAYLOAD COMPARTMENT
PENGUIN B has a swappable payload module that can be removed in seconds and used for various payloads. Payload module is inserted from the underneath of fuselage and includes a large section of the lower fuselage surface to facilitate the installation of camera gimbals, antennas and heat radiators.

MODULAR DESIGN
All components of PENGUIN are easily removable and completely interchangeable. Wing splits in three 1.1 meter sections and the V-tail splits in two parts. High-end industrial grade push-pull connectors are installed in tailboom joints as standard. The quick release fastening is used extensively in PENGUIN airframe. Oversize access covers are equipped with DZUS type 1/4 turn quick fasteners, tail-booms are equipped with a purpose developed 6061 T6 aluminum joints.

4-SERVO V TAIL UPGRADE

Each tail plane control surface is split in two equal sides, each having own servo (total of 4 servos for tail plane). Option includes additional servos, CNC machined aluminum servo mounts, modified control surfaces, additional linkages and wiring. This option increases reliability of the system in case of a tail plane servo failure

7.5 LITER FUEL TANK

A custom made composite fuel tank is factory installed into the Penguin. Fuel tank maximizes amount of fuel that can be carried in Penguin B. With standard 28 cc two stroke engine endurance is increased to 10+ hours

LIST OF OPTIONS
COMBINED PITOTSTATIC ASSEMBLY The combined Static-Pitot tube is designed to provide both dynamic and static pressure measurements in a single package. Pitot-Static tube is made of strong and light carbon fiber tubes and aircraft grade aluminum for maximum rigidity. System can be mounted and removed using two screws for simple UAV transportation. Comes in correct length an validated mounting location. Preinstalled Fischer 102 Series push-pull industrial connectors between the centre and the tip wing sections. Three electrical contacts as standard, other contact configurations are available upon request. Military grade transportation case with substructure, straps and foam padding for holding individual components. Includes internal compartment for tools and small components Onboard generator system that is factory installed on 28 cc, 2-stroke gas engine. High efficiency and reliability. System includes Generator Power Module with 6V and 12V outputs, short circuit protection, integrated Li-Polymer charger, integrated current sensors and RS-232 connection for monitoring consumed current, power, battery status and rpm's. Lithium Polymer battery is not included. Please refer to separate datasheet for more details. Car-top launch system is mounted on a car using standard THULE rack mounts. Smart lever arrangement mechanically unhooks the UAV when the desired angle of attack is obtained. Angle of attack is controlled by the autopilot input and the takeoff procedure is the same as for autonomous runway takeoff. The takeoff procedure is as follows: car accelerates->desired speed is reached-> autopilot commands rotation using elevators-> airframe undergoes rotation and UAV is mechanically disengaged and free to climb. Penguin B with long endurance package designed for 20+ hours endurance. Car-top launcher is used for the takeoff, belly landing or landing gear used for recovery. Advanced 4-stroke Honda engine with high efficiency coreless generator and Generator Power Module. Large 7.5 liter fuel tank included.
