ABSTRACT
This project is about generator protection and excitation system which is carried out in thermal power station. There are different protective systems available to the generator for protecting the generator under abnormal conditions. It also improves the life of the generator. Excitation is used in generator for obtaining the voltage across the terminals. This excitation is varied in order to acquire required output voltage across the terminals. There are various techniques in providing an excitation to the generator which is given in this project.
