AB ENIGMA for AB IPBox 2xx, 3xx, 4xx receivers 1 Operation Manual and description of receiver with installed AB Enigma

firmware.
Although this manual is based on settings of AB IPBox 250S PVR and some details may differ if you use different type of AB IPBox it is an universal manual for all models of AB IPBox 2xx, 3xx a 4xx. series.

Your receiver is based on Linux operating system and it is equipped with hardware for reception of digital satellite (AB IP Box 350PRIME optionally terrestrial and cable) broadcasting. Linux based Enigma software is very successful firmware (image) that brings a great amount of advanced functions and enables trouble-free operation of your receiver. System is controlled through remote controller via interactive On-Screen Display menu.

Connect your receiver (TV connector) to your TV system (AV connector) (e.g. with Scart cable) before starting setting up. Connect the receiver to LNB converter of your satellite dish (LNB IN) and also connect it to Ethernet via cable with RJ45 connector (LAN) (if available). Turn on your TV set and connect AB IP Box to power supply plug. Satellite receiver starts booting automatically similar then in personal computers. AB Enigma logo is displayed on TV screen during this procedure. It will last approximately 40 seconds (according to your concrete configuration). AB Enigma image for all models (except for AB IPBox 350PRIME model) contains preset setting for Astra 19.2E (AA), Hotbird 13E(AB) and ASTRA 23.5E (BA) satellites. If you want to receive signals from these three satellites via DiSEqC switch we recommend you to use this preset configuration. In such a case you will not need to set any parameters. If your satellite dish is installed correctly MTV channel from ASTRA 19.2E satellite is displayed after first running.

29 Main Menu Setup - Service Searching Motor setup

You can set your DiSEqC motorized system in this menu. Enigma image enables manual setting of satellites position and also gotoXX (USALS) function for automatic searching of satellites on the basis of geographic position of your satellite dish. It is very important to install your parabolic antenna dish properly (satellite dish with LNB converter must always follow geostationary trajectory (orbit) and mounting console must be installed absolutely vertical otherwise your motorized system should not work correctly. If you use DiSEqC motor that supports goto XX function (e,g. STAB HH90) select Use gotoXX function and press OK. Enter corresponding values (Longitude, Latitude) for geographic position of your satellite dish. Set all parameters for satellites, LNBs and motor correctly before starting using of your motorized system. Example: If you have correctly installed 100 cm parabolic dish set parameters of geographic coordinates with inaccuracy max 0,100 (Longitude) and 0,300 (Latitude) to receive signal from satellites without noticeable decrease of quality (on SNR bargraph indicator). Use GPS navigation system or visit these websites to find out your local coordinates: www.mapy.cz http://www.heavens-above.com/countries.aspx

Activate Use Motor Input Power (select it and press OK) to display selected channel immediately after finishing rotation of motor. If this function is inactive receiver switches over to new channel as late as limited time for angle change elapsed (for angular velosity1 /sec). Note: Use Blue function button (next page) only for manual setting!

If you use DiSEqC motor that does not support goto XX (USALS) function Use gotoXX function item must be disabled. Position of all satellites must be set manually. Blue button (next page) is active in this menu.

Set Number in Motor (satellite number stored in motor, set after positioning of concrete satellite), Orbital position of satellite (in degrees) and Direction (East/West): Make positioning in position mode. Select a satellite Active transponder

Use Left and Right arrows to rotate dish to the West or East. Adjust antenna position until maximum SNR indicator is reached. Press Green button to store position no. 7.

Press Blue function button to open menu for:

Automatic transponders scan. Automatic multisat scan. Manual transponders scan.

For Manual configuration we recommend to use preset motor setting database of channels of corresponding satellite Procedure: 1 Select a channel broadcasted from particular satellite that you would like to localize by motorized system. 2 Enter menu for motor setup next page, satellite number, position and transponder parameters will be displayed automatically. 3 Use Right/Left arrows to rotate motor until you reach maximum SNR indication. 4 - Store the position. Positions set in this menu are stored in motor's memory as satellite number (position number). If you select a channel receiver gives a command to motor that says move to position no If you connect a new satellite receiver with different position numbers to your motor it will not work properly.
