For lodging commercial Energy Performance Certificates

Lodging commercial EPCs


In order to lodge commercial EPCs using iSBEM Software, the user needs to perform the following: Install the Digital Certificate. Install Microsoft Access 2000 onwards. Obtain the software. Attach the EPCgen Code (sent by BRE to the address registered on Landmark). Lodgement.

Fig. 1.0 1.Installing the Digital Certificate Landmarks website is secure and in order to access the website, the user needs to have a Digital Certificate installed on their computer. We have provided this on the Stroma Members Area of the website; www.stromamembers.co.uk and this can be accessed by logging in using your username and password. When logged in to the Stroma Members Area, select the TAB for Commercial Buildings which can be found along the top of the screen and select the certificate. Please use Internet Explorer for this.

Click on Commercial Digital Certificate on the left of the page. You will be asked if you wish to open the file, as shown in Fig 1.3, below.

Fig. 1.6 Next, select the location that you wish to import the Digital Certificate to, as shown in Fig. 1.7, below. Then click the Next button.

Fig. 1.7 Download the Digital Certificate and save it on your computer in the C: drive of your computer, or other desired directory. Remember this file path you will need to access it in order to install the Digital Certificate. You will be required to input the following password for the certificate: Password: v2daszx2as

Check the specifics and click Finish, as shown in Fig. 1.10 below.

Fig. 1.11 The next stage is to download iSBEM onto your computer. As the iSBEM software is created in Microsoft Access, the user must ensure that they have Microsoft Access installed on their computer in order for it to operate correctly.

2. Installing iSBEM Software


You will need to download the latest version of the iSBEM software, which can be downloaded from the BRE website using the following link: http://www.ncm.bre.co.uk/ Click on the Download tab at the top of the page, shown in Fig. 2.0, below.

Select which items you wish to download, and click here to download. Ensure that you download the correct version for your computers operating system.

Click Run

Fig. 2.4 Select the folder where you wish to store the iSBEM files on your computer. Press Unzip

Fig. 2.7 Then click Close. Now open the folder C:\NCM\iSBEM_v3.5.a (or the alternative filepath specified by the user), and click on file called iSBEM_v3.4.a.mdb as shown in the figure 2.8.

Fig. 2.9 When the above screen appears, click the Open button to proceed. Then read through the licensing conditions, select the I do accept box, and then click OK.

Fig. 2.10 In order to create a new project select the option Create New Project (or other desired function) and then click OK as shown in figure 2.11

Fig. 2.12 Type in the file name of your project. This will be saved as an *.nct file within this Projects folder. Click Save The software is now ready to use, allowing the user to conduct all of the necessary calculations and create EPCs. A screen (as shown in Fig. 2.13) will then appear, allowing you to input basic information. In order to lodge the EPCs in English, select EPC England and click on OK, as shown in figure 2.13. Amend as necessary, and click OK.

Fig. 2.18 Click Save As, type your desired filename & file path, and then click Save current project.

The following message will then appear:

Fig. 2.21 When you go back into iSBEM (via the route described above), your saved file will be shown as an *.nct file, as seen in Fig. 2.22, below..

In order to remove the watermarks from the PDF user requires an 8 character code which will be emailed to the user from EPCgen.net. The user enters their details into the software and performs the calculations. Once completed the software will check the user details against Landmark and email the registered email address with the EPCgen code. The user then needs to insert the code into the software. User needs to put the key in the section as shown in figure Enter your assessor details and scheme (Stroma Certification) into the software and run without the code, this will then connect to the internet and send you the code via email within a few minutes. An EPCGen key code is also required to be entered for all other softwares to produce the live EPC and this will be emailed to you once you have completed the software input. (please note the EPCGen code does not come from Stroma Certification).

Fig. 3.0 This will remove the watermarks from the pdf and will allow user to create the XML files. Once the EPCgen code is entered and accepted the first time the user will not be asked to enter it for each new EPC. iSBEM will remember the code for future EPCs.

To access Landmark please use the following link: https://www.ndepcregister.com Once you have used the software and produce the XML file you wish to upload, please login to Stroma members area, select Commercial Buildings and then the lodgement facility and follow the on screen instructions. This registers the EPC both with Stroma and Landmark. On the members area you will be able to view previously lodged EPCs. A user manual is also available for to access and will explain the full lodgement process. For lodgement users are only required to lodge the xml file which he/she will create from iSBEM software. PDF files are not required for lodgement as XML contains all the calculations and PDFs. In order to lodge the EPC, user needs to log onto our members Area www.stromamembers.co.uk Enter the username and password provided by Stroma Certification and click submit button as shown in figure 3.1.

If details are correct user will be taken to Home page, as shown below in figure 4.0.

Fig 4.0 Click on Commercial Building image and user will be taken to Commercial page section as shown below in figure 4.1.

Click on Lodgement button on your left and it will take you to lodgement page as shown below in figure 4.2.

Fig 4.2 In order to lodge, click on Browse button to browse for the XML file and then click the Upload File button in order to complete the lodgement.

If lodgement is successful, the lodgement details will be displayed on the screen as shown below in figure 4.3.
