Graphing Rational Numbers Graphing rational numbers on a number line can be done by marking a point on the place of the number line that corresponds to the number. Rational numbers can also be expressed in decimal form in which the decimal equivalent of any numeral may repeat. If any decimal number is repeated, it can be represented with a bar. A number line is diagram or line which represents the numbers from negative infinity to positive infinity. A number line extends itself indefinitely in two opposite directions. The left part of the number line consists of negative numbers whereas the right side of the number line consists of positive numbers.
