Emergency Response Checklist Lead Warden In the absence of the Lead Warden, duties of the Lead Warden will

be performed by the Senior Field Agent on duty. The Lead Warden may delegate duties for example by assigning the Switch Board Operator to contact Assistant Lead Wardens and Emergency Wardens. In an emergency, the Lead Warden is responsible for coordinating the following responses: Evacuation (i.e. Fire Alarm) ____ ____ Make sure Assistant Lead Wardens are present. If not, delegate duties to someone. Check Alarm Panel for source of alarm.

____ Advise and update IFS Administration. ____ If alarm source is not apparent, advise the Assistant Lead Wardens to consider sending in a Survey Team*. Develop goals and objectives for the Survey Team. Review information regarding the source of alarm, determine if 911 should be called. Call 911 if applicable.

Relocation (i.e. Severe Weather) ____ In Severe Weather, monitor weather conditions (alarms, radio, TV, etc.) and determine when to initiate a Relocation. Make sure Assistant Lead Wardens are present. If not, delegate duties to someone.

*Survey Team When appropriate, the Lead Warden will advise the Assistant Lead Wardens to form a survey team to inspect the building and identify the purpose of the building survey. The Survey Team should consist of an Assistant Lead Warden, Deputy Safety Manager, or other staff who has detailed knowledge of entire building. The Lead Warden and survey team members will develop a survey plan. The Survey Team will operate using the buddy system at all times and will have a means of communication (cell phones or radio) with the Lead Warden or his designee.

Switchboard Operator and Field Agent Roles The Field Agent Office is the primary point of contact for facility emergencies. At all times, the Switchboard Operator and Field Agents shall be prepared to receive notification of a facility emergency and immediately report details to the Lead Warden or senior Field Agent on duty who will direct response. Upon request of the Lead Warden, Switchboard Operator and Field Agents will be prepared to immediately contact Emergency Wardens, advise them of a facility emergency, and provide direction for immediate action. Each Field Agent is responsible for taking a County radio and cell phone, if available, to any relocation point. Warden Roles Lead Warden Oversee facility emergency response Contact Assistant Lead Wardens and designate replacements as necessary Advise and update IFS Administration Make emergency notifications to DSS, DSO, Parkland, etc. Communicate with emergency responders if applicable Provide direction to Assistant Lead Wardens Evaluate whether 911 should be called and make the call Determine need to deploy a Survey Team and outline their goals and objectives Determine all clear and communicate to Assistant Lead Wardens Assistant Lead Wardens Contact Emergency Wardens and communicate emergency response actions Designate acting Emergency Wardens if necessary Oversee staff response Oversee accountability of staff and visitors Organize and implement a Survey Team as directed by the Lead Warden Assist the Lead Warden as directed Contact 911 if necessary and the Lead Warden cannot perform this duty. Advise Emergency Wardens of all clear status and assist facility in returning to normal operation Emergency Wardens Oversee staff and visitor emergency response within their designated areas as directed by Assistant Lead Warden Provide backup for other Emergency Wardens Communicate with Assistant Lead Warden Advise Assistant Lead Warden that you are present and available in an emergency Advise Assistant Lead Warden that your floor is responding as directed Advise Assistant Lead Warden that your floor is clear

Observe your area for facility conditions related to the emergency that should be reported to the Assistant Lead Warden, for example signs of fire, etc. Perform a roster check Advise Assistant Lead Warden of staff or visitors who are unaccounted for Communicate information from the Assistant Lead Warden to your assigned staff Advise your assigned staff of all clear status and assist facility in returning to normal operation
