NEWS LEISUREZONE: Sports trust gives life to 25m fitness development

By NATALIE DEARMAN
natalie.dearman@archant.co.uk THE wait was finally over yesterday (Wednesday) as the 25million Harlow Leisurezone complex opened its doors to the town.
The highly impressive facility, described as the jewel in the crown of the Harlow Gateway Project, has been deemed one of the best in the region and provides something for everyone. Tonia Gosling, chief executive of Harlow and District Sports Trust, said at a press viewing of the new centre on Friday: Im very proud that as Harlow and District Sports Trust we will be running this facility. Im pleased that the local community will have access to this and it will make a huge difference to their day to day quality of life. Id love to see everyone in Harlow come in and benefit from it. Im also very pleased for the Gateway Partnership as their dream of eight years has now come to fruition. The project has not been without its problems, including lengthy delays due to problems with the installation of fire dampers. Ms Gosling continued: To me, for a large building of this size and complexity, its not unusual to have delays. The most important thing is the quality of the facility and its definitely been worth waiting for.
