cided to take it away from men and hide it where they would never again find it. Where to hide it became the big question. Butterworth continues by saying suggestions were made to hide mans divinity at the bottom of the ocean, perhaps at the top of the highest mountain or deep in the earth. No, it was decided man would find it in all of those places. Brahman eventually decided that mans divinity would be hidden inside of him for, he will never think to look for it there. Ever since then, the legend concludes, man has been going up and down the earth, climbing, digging, div-

ing, exploring, searching for something that is already in himself. Two thousand years ago, a man named Jesus found it and shared its secret; but in the movement that sprang up in His name, the Divinity in Man has been the best kept secret of the ages. (Butterworth) Our theme for 2012 is Discover the Power Within. Using Butterworths book as a springboard, we will look at the gospel of Jesus in a new context, with repeated emphasis on the idea of Christ in you. That is Butterworths description of his work. In our Sunday medita-
tion times weve taken a conscious journey within ourselves to connect with our Christ. We want to know it, feel it, know its wisdom and establish a relationship with it. Even as I write it I am really referring to us because there is only oneness, no separation. So, in essence, we are journeying to know ourselves at a deeper level. Thats what our year will be about and we will use many different writings to help us explore the topic. On Sunday January 8th, I will be offering our annual Spiritual Baptism ceremony using water

The Presidents Report ... with Wilda Thomas No more New Years resolutions, only happy goals
Prosperity Report
appy New Year! Here we are in 2012! We are looking forward in childlike anticipation to all the good that is in store for this fabulous church family this year. All kinds of classes and fun get-togethers are already planned with the intention of lifting us all up spiritually. These include a new 4T program; a February Blues Party complete with live band and silent auction; a spiritual retreat, and the Coffee House, just to name a few. How great it is to have all these volunteers lovingly organizing all these events just so we can come together in the spirit of Unity ... the spirit of Love. You may have noticed the Lets Get to Thrive slide
n the past, the New Year has not been my favourite time. I find January a bit of a letdown after the busyness of the holidays; my business sometimes slows down and there are at least three full months of winter before we see those crocuses peak their pretty heads out of the snow. And then, of course, there is that issue of New Years resolutions. Whether you want to lose or maintain your weight, get fit, quit smoking or reduce your credit card debt, as often as not, by the end of January the commitments have gone by the wayside and you are feeling badly because you didnt have the stickto-itiveness to keep your resolutions. For me there are no more New Years resolutions. There are only happy goals like two international trips in 2012, taking more Spanish classes, travelling
with my sisters, and at least six pedicures a year. Those are goals that I am delighted to achieve. So, you may ask, what about all those resolutions that I should do like losing weight, going to bed earlier, and working out. Well, I am working with those in my success journal. A success journal is where you record that which you consider a success in your life. For example, my goal is to work out three times

a week and most weeks I have challenges with that. So, any time that I work out is a success for me. In fact, every time that I go for a walk or do anything physical is a success and is worth noting. Over the last two years, I have worked out 182 times which is huge for me. I dont beat myself up if I only work out once a week. Instead, I focus on my accomplishment I am still working out, I am still paying for my membership and next week is another opportunity for me to recommit to my goal. Yippee! There have been many successes for Unity of London during 2011, so here are some, in no particular order: Rev. Lori Hisson has given more than 40 inspirational talks to uplift and ground us in who we are as divine beings; Jake Levesque, our music director, organized and presented at least three musical numbers each week, with the help of the choir, Emilio Zarris and other guest singers. He also produced 10 Coffee Houses and a Cabaret this year with the assistance of many volunteers; Courtnay Kingsbury is expecting her second
childif that isnt a success, I dont know what is! Congratulations! Bluestone Properties, our landlord, chose to donate $500 a month to Unity of London; The Mexico Condo Lottery was sold out for the second year in a row; Unity of London established a New Home Fund with more than $2,000 in it; Our Ministerial student, Ros Mariconda of Kingsville, became Rev. Ros and we celebrated in her success; Nine new congregants committed to be members of Unity of London; Our finances are in the black; The vast majority of our congregants volunteered their time and talents in many different ministries to make Unity of London run smoothly and efficiently. Please acknowledge your success as a volunteer and pat yourself on the back. Also, take the opportunity to tell someone else that they are difference makers. As we move through 2012, I request that we acknowledge our own successes at each and every opportunity. For me that is a resolution worth keeping. Happy New Year and

This weekend retreat offers you the time to discover your power within through creative expression, journaling, silence, meditation and a labyrinth walk. There will be teachings and time for one on one spiritual direction with Rev. Lori. The Michaelite House is in the country and outside walks could be a part of your retreat time. Come away to country beauty and quiet after a busy holiday season and enjoy getting in touch with your inner self. Once you embrace your power you'll be in a great space to set intentions or happy goals for 2012.

Pat Moauro holds his SEE certificate during graduation from the final C classes in Spiritual Education and Enrichment (SEE) at Unity Village last November. He has also qualified as a Licensed Unity Teacher (LUT); however, his certificate had not arrived when this newsletter went to press. I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore and diverting myself in now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than ordinary whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me. - Isaac Newton

Spiritual Action In Unity, we feel a sacred responsibility, individually and collectively, to make a positive difference through personal example and active service in our churches, our communities, and our world. Honouring Diversity Within the Unity Movement We believe that all people are created with sacred worth. Therefore, we recognize the importance of serving all people within the Unity family in spiritually and emotionally caring ways. We strive for our ministries, publications, and programs to reach out to all who seek Unity support and spiritual growth. It is imperative that our ministries and outreaches be free of discrimination on the basis of race, colour, gender, age, creed, religion, national origin, ethnicity, physical disability, or sexual orientation.
