Welcome to the FlowBreeze Walkthrough. FlowBreeze is a text to flowchart automation add-in for Microsoft Excel.

This 5 step overview demonstrates the main features of FlowBreeze. Click the "Next" arrow above or click a link in the Table of Contents below.

Your First Flowchart - Instructions:

1. Click the FlowBreeze tab on the ribbon, then click the Start b 2. Click Continue Trial on the reminder screen. 3. Click Start on the "Start Flowcharting" screen. Type "FL" and press <Enter>. An "Add Flow Line Connector" screen opens. Select "Done?" from the left and "Read file" from the right. Click the Add flow line button to add the connector. 10. Click 2 rows below "Go to lunch" on the shaded guideline. 11. Click Stop Flowcharting button on the toolbar. 12. Click Yes on the "Add End Terminator" screen. Congratulations! You've made you first flowchart. Click the Next button above to proceed.

Flowchart Wizard In this section we will convert the text on the left side of the page into a flowchart using the Flowchart Wizard. Follow these steps:
1. Enter the text. For best results, enter the text in the approximate layout that you would like the flowchart to have. (In this example, the text has

already been entered.) 2. Click the Flowchart Wizard button on the toolbar. (This will open the Flowchart Wizard form.) 3. In Step 1, use the default settings and click "Next".
4. Select the "Done?" entry. In the Connectors section, click Add Connector. Select "2" from the Connect To drop down. Select "Right" in the Side column. Enter "No" in the Branch Label column.

5. (Optional) You can click the Symbol and Style columns to customize the output. Finish and FlowBreeze will generate the flowchart. 7. If needed, you can click and drag the shapes to re-position the flowchart. Also, clicking a connector (arrow), then clicking Reroute Connections from the toolbar will automatically route the connector to the shortest path.

Swim Lane Template Generator

Note:
This step will create a template in a new workbook. After you create a sample template, close the workbook and return to this walkthrough.

FlowBreeze Standard includes a Template Generator feature th easy to create templates for Swim Lane diagrams. 1. Click Create Template on the ribbon.

2. The Style Wizard will load all the symbols on this page into a On the Template Properties tab: - Enter the name of the template. - Edit the page layoout options if desired. - Click Next. 3. On the Body tab: - Select the Cross functional - vertical swim lanes option. - Click "+" or "-" to change the number of lanes. - Click and edit the lane titles (see note below). - Click Next. 4. On the Header / Footer tab: - Check the "Add title block header" option. - Leave the the number of rows as 1. - Click "+" or "-" to change the number of header sections. - Edit the section text as desired (see note below). - Click OK to generate the template. Note: Since templates are often generic, you can leave the

lane titles and section text as-is and edit them when the template is used in a flowchart. Loading Templates:

Templates can be loaded using the "Load Template" button on before starting a flowchart, or they can be loaded via the Start screen by selecting the "Load a template" option.

You can also add addition shapes to your flowchart by clicking Start button and continuing a flowcharting session. Alternately you can use any of the tools in the Insert group on the ribbon to manually add shapes and connectors, then use the Flowchar Editor to apply the styles.
