Position: Engineer III ( Scada & Control Systems). Working with Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) in the capacity of EngineerIII (SCADA Systems) in the Telecom/Scada department of pipeline operations division. Engineers for the Monitoring and Control of 1228 Km and 800 Km pipeline operations through the monitoring and control of Pumping and Terminal Stations, Associated Instrumentation, Block valves, Cathodic protection stations, Batch tracking and Leak detection systems for the smooth and safe pipeline operations. For 800 Km WOP pipeline network the System consists of Fourth Generation OASYS DNA HMI and High-End HP servers and Workstations. The data Communication carried out through FOC, TCP/IP and DNP 3.0. SAGE 2200 RTU for Block Valve and Cathodic Protection Sites Monitoring and Control.

Job Description & Responsibilities. Responsible for the Budget Forecasting, Schedule Maintenance, Supervising Troubleshooting, Installation, Commissioning and continuous safe operation of the system. Supervising time-to-time development as per operational requirement, changes and technical review as per international codes and standards for implementation in the system with associated field Instrumentation, which includes SMART & HART technology. Investigate, diagnose and rectifies the systems and related faults. Responsible for the supervising condition monitoring, maintenance and operations of Station control systems (PLC controlled) through Intellution iFix & iFix, WinCC (Windows Control Centre), Fuels Manager MMI and SAAB TankPro software with related field Instrumentation & Electrical system for the smooth pipeline operations from pumping station # 01 Korangi (Karachi) to the mid country Pumping Station # 05 (Mahmood Kot) and onwards further to 364 Km in the up country of Pakistan at TS # 04 (Machike Terminal) near Lahore. Responsible for supervising the maintenance of WOP SCADA and Station Control Systems including Allen Bradley Controllogix 5555 PLC and OASYS DNA SCADA HMI. Planning included Spares management and procurement to avoid System down time. Using MAXIMO computerized maintenance management system for maintenance, work order and inventory management. Responsible for the System development, interfacing with different software as per operational requirements. Responsible for the safe and error free operation of the system. Provides technical advice on systems performance and suitability installed. Remain in close co-ordination with the operations department for the continuous and problem free operation of the system. Evaluates system modification requests from different departments mainly from operations department and advice for the feasibility of the changes required. Responsible for the maintaining of high level of housekeeping in the area of responsibility. Also responsible for the Planning and establishment of the preventive, shutdown and corrective maintenance related to the system components to prevent downtime and operational loss. Responsible for the spare parts management of the entire System to prevent System down time and operational losses.

Projects:
Additional Current Assignment: After Technical and Commercial evaluation of the International Vendors. Assessment and examining of the bid documents submitted for PARCO SCADA System revamping project has been carried out. This Project will replace the old SCADA System with fourth generation SCADA System. Revamping includes Replacement of old SCADA System, Relay based Station Control System and Station Control PLCs with Allen Bradley Controllogix PLC with Remote Block Valves, Cathodic Protection sites with SCADAPACK RTUs, TRIO Radios and Modems. Project is in execution phase and scheduled to be completed in Second quarter of 2007.
