Learning objective

Synthesizing food chains to construct food web.

Learning outcome

At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to: Construct a food web. Construct food webs of different habitat Predict what will happen if there is a change in the population of a certain species in a food web. Explain what will happen to certain species of animals if they eat only one type of food.

Implication from pre-requisite knowledge : Pupils have discussed food chains in the previous lesson

1. Pupils sing a song from local forklore Bangau Oh Bangau. 2. From the song, teacher ask question ; What animals exist in the song? Who eats who?

Eliciting of Idea (10 minutes)

Brainstorming.

1. Teacher brainstorming the names of animals and plants found in an oil palm plantations What are the plants and animals found in this habitat? 2. Teacher discuss and explain about the concept of food web.
