Freedom on the Internet

In such a fast changing era like now, the number of people using Internet is becoming more and more enormous. There raised a debate in which whether Internet users should be deterred to make their own judgment about what they read, watch or hear on the Internet or not. For the privacy conservation, the reduction in global tensions and the spread of hazardous information and the protection of easily-impressionable people from inappropriate content on the Internet; it is definite that Internet users should not be free. There is no doubt that a lot of Internet users are younger people who are still immature. Hence, the information found on the Internet is able to have a great impact on their opinions especially that is amazing and impressive. Perhaps these peoples moral values are negatively influenced because they are in the progress of growing up and receiving a wide range of knowledge in the society without noticing which is really true among everything they conceive. For instance, Vietnamese students studying abroad can be triggered to go against the government in Vietnam after reading some kinds of online rebellious documents. These students are likely to disobey the Vietnamese governments policies, object them and even support the anti-governmental organizations in foreign countries. This is the cause of other problematic, dramatic and national issues which can also be seen on the Internet. This is one of many reasons answering why censorship of the Internet should be carried out. Another striking point to note that one of the most annoying and chronic problems occurring everyday online is the violation of personal information. Apparently, with the emergence of community and sharing websites such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and MySpace, etc, people seem to be more unattended and disclose their personal information on the profiles frequently. Genuinely, this is with the purpose of showing off themselves more effectively and making friends more rapidly. However, in many ways, some hackers and even other users have been trying to steal invisibly other ones personal information in

attempt to do something which is not proper. Nevertheless, the owners information can be exploited, as a consequence, he can be illegal or become a victim unexpectedly. Finally, the freedom of the speech on the Internet suppressed means the spread of dangerous information like bomb making conspiracy decreases. Therefore, a large number of deadly plans will be unable to be conducted via Internet. This will diminish the complexity of chasing terrorism on the Internet. On the other hand, censorship of the Internet will give a hindrance to the global tensions. For example, there will be less racism-related information on the Internet. There is a fact that people originating from different cultures and social tolerations will have different perception about other communities so it is necessary to limit these kinds of sensitive judgments online. If these are revealed, the relationship between two communities or two countries can become tense and critical, as a result, uncontrollable conflicts can burst such as bomb explosion, bloody wars, etc. In conclusion, up to this point, it can be hardly denied that Internet users should not be free to make their own judgment about what they read, watch or hear on the Internet. Furthermore, the control of information on the Internet will be conducted efficiently with the helps of parents, schoolteachers and peer groups.
