The amazing part though, as we fill shoeboxes with tangible items, (given because we have the gift of Christ), Christ fills the boxes with His love: a love that stretches across the world and fills the hearts of children that need to feel and know His love. Shanika and Sherika understand the importance of sending OCC shoeboxes...now hopefully, you understand a little better too.
In third grade in Jamaica, Shanika and Sherika each received a special gift: Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. A couple years later they received shoeboxes again. Shanika remembers finding a special Teddy Bear in her shoebox and Sherika still uses the calculator she found in hers. According to Johns gospel, after the Resurrection, Jesus asked one of his followers if he loved him. In fact, three times Jesus asked the man the same question. The man was hurt because he felt Jesus did not trust him or could not count on him. Who was that man? A. James B. (Simon) Peter C. Philip D. John The answer is in John 21:17.
