Habitat for Humanity Elects New Board Members

March 27, 2012 for immediate release

NORTH BAY North Bay Blue Sky Habitat for Humanity elected four new Board members at the Annual General Meeting held recently. The Board of Habitat for Humanity North Bay Blue Sky welcomes new Board members Noel Coulas, Phil Desjardine, BJ Szabicot and Honorary Board Member Dean Reckzin to our Board. The chairman of the Board of Directors, John Humble, notes "We are very excited to have these people volunteer their time and expertise to Habitat for Humanity North Bay Blue Sky. Our existing board members and volunteers already do amazing things throughout the community, and the addition of these new board members will strengthen our ability to meet our mandate of building simple, affordable housing for low income families." "Mostly I'm looking forward to all the new people I'm going to meet." says Noel Coulas, one of the newly elected board members. "We hope to build our 5th home this summer, but we're also hosting a golf tournament fund raiser, a neighbourhood 2x4 signing and an Antique Car Show, and we'll be doing lots of outreach in places like South River, East Ferris and other local communities. It's going to be a very busy time, and I expect there will be some interesting challenges, but I know I'm going to have a great time." Habitat for Humanity North Bay Blue Sky recognizes the tremendous investment that volunteers and all of our community partners put forth in helping us meet our mission. It is only through their donation of funds, gifts in kind and the hundreds of volunteer hours spend on our fund raising and building projects that we can make the dream of affordable home ownership a reality. The Board looks forward to working with these enthusiastic new Board members as we prepare for our next build.
