MODERN APPRENTICESHIP A full modern apprenticeship with Curriculum Coaches Ltd comprises of a three and five year training

programme in Sports Coaching & Sports Development. THREE YEAR FOUNDATION MODERN APPRENTICESHIP A full training programme over a three year period comprising of the following qualifications: Level I & Level II NGB Coaching Qualification in two sports NVQ Level II & Level III in Coaching, Working With Children & Playwork First Aid Certificate in Child Protection Full UK Driving Licence Community Sports Leaders Award The ECDL computer qualification Your duties will include: Working towards the delivery of coaching sessions Working towards the delivery of curriculum lessons Holiday sports courses Team coaching sessions Administration & computer duties Recording & assessment of sessions Sports development & promotion FIVE YEAR ADVANCED MODERN APPRENTICESHIP The first three years are as above. On completion of the three year programme, the candidate will then progress to the following qualifications: Level IV Sport Development & Coaching Qualification HND/Degree Sports Development & Coaching Your duties after completing The Advanced Apprenticeship will be as a Team Leader, leading to a minor management role within the company. Both apprenticeships are designed to enable the employee on successful completion of the apprenticeship a chance to gain experience in other sports settings, although from our Company point of view, we would prefer the employee to remain within our Company setting at an appropriate grade. All training & qualifications are paid for by The Company and reasonable time off is given to complete qualifications. Where Staff do not attend or complete a course, The Company may seek to reimburse the course fee & costs incurred. HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT & HOLIDAYS A 37.5 hour week which will include some weekend work (decided in interview). Twenty days holiday per year in addition to Bank Holidays. REMUNERATION The following pay scales relate to Modern Apprenticeships: Year I-5,000 (age 16) Year II-7,000 (age 17) Year III-9,000 (age 18) Year IV-11,000 (age 19) Year V-13,000 (age 20) Position of Junior Sport Development Officer 14,000 Position of Trainee Senior Sports Development Officer 16,000 Position of Senior Sports Development Officer 18,000 Sports Development Manager 20,000 All salaries are subject to our annual review and commencing a Modern Apprenticeship may be subject to age, qualifications and experience i.e. an 18 year old with relevant experience and qualifications could start on 9,000 in Year I. GENERAL Our Company has been trading for fifteen years and is now at a stage of major expansion. Our current Staff consists of eighteen full-time, twenty-two permanent part-time and thirty-three temporary part-time. The majority of Staff are under the age of twenty-five, so you will be working within a young, vibrant environment, where you will only earn the respect of your colleagues by a commitment to hard work and

continuous improvement and development both on a personal level and working as part of a team. Our main aim is to provide sporting opportunities to children and young people regardless of ability, gender, race or disability. Our Company works in schools across South Manchester, as well as in recreation centres and leisure facilities. MODERN APPRENTICESHIPS JOB DESCRIPTION & PERSON SPECIFICATION Ability to relate to children of all ages General administration & clerical duties Working towards the preparation of actual sessions plans Working towards the delivery of structured lessons/sessions Recording of structured lessons/sessions Record accidents/incidents/events in required log books Ability to relate to parents/guardians/carers To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature as may be determined by Management To play a full role as a member of The Sportsweek Team QUALIFICATIONS TO BE ATTAINED NGB LEVEL II COACHING AWARD CSLA NVQ LEVEL II FIRST AID CHILD PROTECTION QUALIFICATION IT SKILLS SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE TO BE ATTAINED FULL CLEAN UK DRIVING LICENCE ABLE TO WORK WITH CHILDREN ABILITY TO SET OBJECTIVES, WORK WITHIN TIME SCALES ABILITY TO WORK FLEXIBLY ABILITY TO WORK EVENINGS & WEEKENDS KNOWLEDGE OF EDUCATION SYSTEMS & SCHOOL WORKING ENVIRONMENT
