court. Neibler, who was already a convicted felon, was sentenced to between 15 to 25 years in prison for the armed robbery. For the charges of attempting to disarm a police officer and two counts of assaulting a police officer, he has been sentenced to between 38 and 60 months in prison, according to the Washtenaw County Prosecutors Office, and an additional 32 to 48 months for the charge of trying to escape while awaiting trial for a felony. Some of these sentences will be served consecutively with the armed robbery penalty. When totaled, Neibler has been sentenced to between 17 years, eight months to 29 years in prison for the conviction. He also has been charged for additional crimes in Lenawee County, where he is accused of robbing Fabricare Laundromat Jan. 19 and Modish Hair Salon Jan. 21 in Tecumseh, according to a press release from Tecumseh police. He has been charged in Lenawee County District Court with three counts of armed robbery, two counts of larceny from a building, one count of assault with intent to commit armed robbery and two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent. Neibler was arrested by Saline police immediately following the armed robbery of Dominos Pizza Jan. 23. Detective Don Lupi of the Saline Police Department said when Neibler was in Saline police custody he asked for an attorney and police were unable to question him further at the time. Lupi said after Neibler was assigned an attorney, he confessed to the armed robberies when he was later questioned by the Tecumseh Police Department. Tecumseh Police Chief Troy Stern said the departments worked cooperatively and it was determined quickly that Neibler was a likely suspect for the Tecumseh robberies. They waited until forensic results from evidence colPLEASE SEE ROBBER/3-A

The road to a better Saline began in the center of town March 20 as officials, organizers and wellwishers gathered for the official start of the Main Street program. More than 50 people gathered at Macs seafood restaurant on the corner of Michigan Avenue and Ann Arbor-Saline Road to kick off the process with a joyous beginning. The recognition capped a lengthy process that included developing a binder that was 4 to 5 inches thick; just to get in the door, state officials said. The designation means the city will get assistance over the next five years from the state to enhance the historic nature of downtown Saline while
