INTRODUCTION

I guess I am a supporter of Communism though Stalin, Mao and the other Communists ruined the idea and ingrained it in our heads that Communism is bad. This, in reality, is not. I believe that their implementation was wrong. Communism, for me, was supposed to be perfect anarchy the absence of state because the workers themselves run the government. Instead, it only turned into another totalitarian regime hell bent on exterminating non-compliant members. Well, its a damn shame that it didnt turn out like it should have. Communism, just like Capitalism, is merely economic systems, one based on collective ownership and the other on private accumulation. Though Communism is nothing but an ideology, Id like to support this Ideology to rule in the near future of Geopolitics. This is Communism, not the dictatorships you have seen before, but the democracies to come, where no one is without food and where you can truly speak your mind out. This is Communism for me and this is what I stand for in my paper. In my further explanations and conclusions, I guess Id try to avoid mentioning Stalin and Mao cause I think they were just criminals that killed billions of people in the name of communism, but that is not communism at all! Id like to acknowledge the book The Communist Manifesto (originally Manifesto of the Communist Party). For some who have not read it and for those who have read it yet didnt understand the whole point, theyd probably be hating Communism now and just proclaim that its the worst disease to ever strike mankind. My mind simply changes as writing this paper, cause my father keeps telling me that true communism can only work in my head and in my paper, not in reality. Anyways to keep going, Id like to mix up Socialism and Communism Socionism. Its sad how many people would want Communism to just die out; I really think this can be the best form. In its essence, it is a nation of self-governance but that doesnt mean Anarchism. Laws of state and economics as well as the introduction, unwritten rules of conduct and policy are necessary institutions but instead of being backed by the support of citizenry itself. Its better for me to not make Communism accessible to Democrats because I believe it should be something fundamentally different. If we can ONLY reach such level, an order can be maintained without having a police force to moderate the population or a standing military to hold up a governments security. It upsets me to know how much my political ideology is hated; mainly by those who do not understand or know what it is we stand and fight for. Few people look at the word positively and less open minded people may be openly resistant to my ideas after such use.

DISCUSSION

Politics play a very important role in todays society. The different ideologies and codes determine a nations identity, and more importantly who their allies are. The political spectrum, a scale devised to measure the type of government running a country, ranges from communist/fascist dictatorship to essentially complete anarchy. Democracy also falls upon this spectrum, albeit a little to the right of neutral are two of the more commonly seen ideologies; with democracy commonly associated with the western world while communism is closely associated with the eastern or Asian countries.

This political ideology of Communism is under Karl Marxs philosophy, the final stage of human economic evolution. Communism, as we all know today, is not at all what its creators intended. When Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels wrote the Communist Manifesto, they had envisioned a society where everyone was equal. It was supposed to be a political movement, of or on behalf of the working class that was dictated to the overthrow of emerging capitalist society. Besides being a fairly simplistic ideology, Communism called for a temporary government, who could help the transition to the new system remain smooth. Once the new system was in place and the wealth was already equally distributed, the government was supposed to fade away into the background, leaving a society that was self-sufficient, and completely ungoverned. But, thanks to human nature, this form of government simply wont rise. The power of state was used to implement the changes, often resorting to terror or intimidation to accomplish their goals. Once in office, the temporary government has been known to corrupt the system, refusing to step down, or even to ration the wealth. This results to communist dictatorship, where instead of the ungoverned utopia, the country is thrown to poverty and conflict with a government that couldnt care less. Anyways, I am simply stating these points to point out what communism has become instead of what it is supposed to be.

I think its best to explain a little bit about the man behind Marxism/Communism. Karl Marx was a 19th century philosopher, political economist and revolutionary. When he and his friend created the Communist Manifesto, this was where the entire concept of Marxism and by extension, Communism derived from. Marx predicted that in years to come, there would be a revolution of the working class, and after that, there would be no classes everything and everyone would be equal. He also observed that over the worlds economic history, there had been four stages and he perceived that there was also to be a fifth and final stage, Communism.

These stages were; Primal Society, the way society operated in the Stone Age. It is where everything was shared and there was no accumulation of wealth. Superficially, this was like Communism, but due to lack of wealth being created, it couldnt fit the famous Marxist test of Communism, from each according to his ability, to each according to his need. After the Primal Society, there came in Slavery. Slaves were often exploited by their masters. Following this was Feudalism, here, servants were paid pitiful amounts to toil away doing their lords bidding. Then the stage four is the Capitalist Society; this is the stage where most of the world is currently at. The proletariat here get paid reasonable amounts to work and ultimately improve their bourgeoisie employers. Marx believed that there would be a final revolution of the working class after which the worlds economy could finally reach a stage where there was no exploitation. This was true communism. Its meant to abolish all repression, everyone could be themselves and there was no toiling away for the man. Everything went to the common good of the country or state but this certainly isnt the way Communism is conveyed in the media because its made to look terrible.

All throughout the world today, the most common used is the democratic government. Most Communist states are dictatorships. Many people do not like Communism because they believe that if the leader is not elected, the people will have their rights taken away. However Democracy is hardly any better. As Thomas Jefferson once said, A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. I personally believe that the fear of having ones rights taken away is hardly a reason to hate Communism at all. Marxism, as I have already said, is best described as each according to his ability, to each according to his need. This roughly translates as everyone does his/her bit for the greater good of the country. Everyone is equal and paid equal. There is only public wealth, no private. Other interpretations of this ideal include Maoism, Trotskyism and Leninism. All of these come under the wider umbrella of Communism.

CONCLUSION

After studying Marxism, and all other forms of Communism, I didnt just have something to write on my term paper. I also learned that there are three classes; The Inner Party, The Outer party and The Proletariats. Even though all members of each group earn the same, the Inner Party exploits the Outer Party and the Outer Party exploits the Proletariats. The government has a strict totalitarian control over everyone, with the use of thought police. Any unenlightened person would quite easily mistake this kind of Government as Communist, and by extension believe this is Communism. Communism is a good idea in theory, but sadly it has not yet created a successful, wealthy and generally happy economic state, it has been slandered over the years by terrible propaganda and misconceptions. Many have tried to create a working Communist state, none yet have succeeded. It is supposed to be the final economic state of the world, where everyone is equal, everything is shared and everyone is free. Sadly, many are against it and doubt that this will ever be achieved because the human race now is too obsessed with making money, being the best and having power. Though part of me fear that Communism may have to stay an ideology, other half of me tells me to have faith and believe that Communism is the only solution for our future to be better and that all of us would be in progress.

We must fight for our world and for our stance in making it equal. It is our civil duty to fight for concord. As said beautifully by Robert Collier, Playing safe is probably the most unsafe thing in the world. You cannot stand still. You must go forward. The only way to protect the degenerating world and global society as we all know it is to ensure complete equality. The only equal system is that of Socialism and Communism. Though many oppose it, those who strive for a future for themselves, their children, their grandchildren, must embrace it in its glory. We must realize that we, too, will one day be on the receiving end of a police officer removing us from a tent city unless we do something about it, speak up for the small man. Just consider one thing: What will you do when they come for you and there is no one to protect you in return?
