COMPANION WEBSITE: http://academic.cengage.com. Click on Humanities and Social Sciences, then Arts and Humanities, then Art Appreciation. Find the Lazzari text, then go to the Student Companion site. Lecture topics will coincide with chapter readings and assignments.
Assignments: In lieu of TESTS and FINAL EXAM, each week a homework project will be assigned to be completed by the following class. There will also be a field report required. Grading: Class grade will be based on: Six (6) homework assignments 10% each = 60% + Field Report (Paper) 20% + Class Participation 20% = 100% Grade point scale 90 100 = A, 80 89 = B, 70 79 = C, 60 69 = D. All assignments must be completed by October 18 to receive points toward your final grade. Attendance: The class only meets EIGHT (8) times and each session focuses on unique material. Any absence must be explained and justified to the instructor. Field Report/Paper: Two (2) pages typed (double spaced) due by Tuesday, October 19. The report may be submitted in hard or electronic copy. Each student will also deliver an oral summation of their paper, documenting and discussing their visit to an art gallery, museum, exhibition, auction, demonstration or sale. The instructor will work with you to identify a topic. Attach a photograph of yourself at the event or include a brochure or admission ticket. In your OWN words no papers off of the internet! No plagiarism! Because of semester grading deadlines any anticipated late submission of work must be cleared with the instructor! Class Etiquette: Please do not leave class unless it is an emergency. Please be considerate of your fellow classmates and instructor. Academic Integrity: Students are expected to follow Information Technology Student/Patron Ethics Agreement as posted in computer areas and academic integrity standards as set down in the student handbook.
