LECTURERS INFORMATION NAME OF LECTURER : DEPARTMENT 1.0 SYNOPSIS :

This course extends the students knowledge of statistical methods into business problems. It introduces students with the appropriate analysis techniques and its applications in real life. 2.0 COURSE OBJECTIVE Upon completion of this subject, students should be able to : Present and summarize data. Understand the statistical techniques used in the calculations. Apply the statistical techniques, including methods of presentation and computer-based programs to real business problems. 3.0 LEARNING OUTCOMES Define and explain the basic statistical terms Organize raw data in frequency table form, draw at least 3 diagrams and calculate data parameters. Make conclusion about a population based on sample by using hypothesis testing. Measure the strength of relationship between two variables by using correlation and describe the relationship using regression. Use the additive model to forecast the future values of time series Calculate weighted and un-weighted index numbers.

Transferable Skills:

Teaching-learning and assessment strategy

Conduct simple survey Analyze data collected Make conclusion based on collected data Make decision out of the findings of the survey Teacher Centered lecture; Student Centered Active Learning (discussion, assignment, group work, short class presentation); Question Answer session individual and group; Test - individual
