or their agencies to help promote the event and show
the venue in the best possible manner.

The Cause
JA programs are funded by businesses and individuals, and are de-
signed to be taught in the classroom by business, parent, and com-
munity volunteers. Classroom volunteers make economic concepts
relevant, fuel the entrepreneurial spirit, and challenge the students to
excel. JA’s unique delivery system provides the training, materials,
and support necessary to ensure a positive experience. Our materials
include curriculum for elementary, middle and high school students.
Most non-profits do not have externally verifiable data on the effec-
tiveness of their programs. But Junior Achievement has contracted
with an independent research firm which concluded that students
have a better understanding of economics and business after partici-
pating in JA programs and they understand the connection between
education and success. Students improve their critical thinking and
problem solving skills, are better leaders and communicators. On
the other hand students have virtually no understanding of the free
enterprise system without participation in JA programs.
Key Findings from the National 10-Year Evaluation Studies
· Students understand the connection between education and success after participating in JA
· Students that participate in JA improve their critical thinking and problem solving skills
· Students have virtually no understanding of the free enterprise system without participation in JA
· Teachers “love” JA
· Volunteers “love” JA
· The volunteer serves as the critical role model that creates the effectiveness of JA programs

· Students report that JA has a major influence on their lives, both in and out of academic areas
