Nitrous jet to HP gain. Here's a chart that shows how much HP a given size of Nitrous jet makes.

The jet sizes are in thousandths, and that is typically how they are stamped. Note that the HP gain is PER JET! If you are running four jets, then you will have four times the HP gain! Typically, dry systems use one or two jets, and wet systems use four. FOR WET SYSTEMS: Check fuel pump flow and pressure on the bench before you install system to verify that it is working properly. If all is well, then install on bike and run it on the dyno with the NOS off, and the fuel enriched. Verify that the fuel system is working by observing the very rich A/F reading should be less than 11:1. Now make a pull with the NOS bottle on, and with a very small NOS jet. Keep increasing the NOS jet in small increments and check A/F ratio with each change. A good, safe A/F ratio with NOS is between 11.8:1 and 12:1. A very large shot of juice will require an even richer AF ratio. FOR DRY SYSTEMS: The procedure is basically the same except fuel is enriched with a Power Commander (or other means) to add fuel through the stock injectors. Just remember to first richen it up by adding a lot of fuel, and then add a little bit of NOS until the A/F is where you want it. Here is a link to NOS's webpage. Link to NOS's chart I abbreviated it and typed it out. The fuel jet sizing is based on using their standard pump that comes in their kits and running 57 flowing PSI. Other brands and types of fuel pumps put out different flow and pressure - the fuel jet size will change accordingly. The NOS jet chart is based on bottle pressure of 900-950 PSI.

WARNING: THE HP MADE BY THE NOS JET SIZE WILL BE VERY CLOSE TO WHAT THE CHART INDICATES. THE CHART IS A GUIDELINE FOR THE FUEL JET REQUIRED. YOUR SPECIFIC SYSTEM COULD BE DIFFERENT. NEVER ASSUME YOU ARE GETTING ENOUGH FUEL. YOU MIGHT HAVE A BAD PUMP, CLOGGED JETS, PINCHED FUEL LINE, DIRTY FILTER, ETC.! IT MUST BE VERIFIED WITH AN A/F READING. DON'T ASSUME ANYTHING! Here's a few dyno runs from my '03 Busa. Engine mods are: Muzzy pipe, PC3R, and a dry shot. Air temp was cool, so bottle pressure was only 650-700 PSI. Should make a bit more power with warmer bottle and increased pressure - and will REQUIRE more fuel! I made a custom map for NA and then added fuel for NOS by richening the high button 3 bars on the PC3, and remained at that setting for all NOS runs. When the motor was running NA with 3 bars it ran OK (didn't hesitate, or missfire - felt about the same). But, with the over rich condition it lost 3-5 HP. Four bars really killed the NA power. I could have made a NOS map (will do later). The AF was amazingly close to what was needed by simply richening it with the bars. I did it this way for the convenience of switching tuneups between NA and NOS runs by using the buttons instead of dragging a computer along to change maps. Since I had it on the dyno and monitored the AF, I was safe doing it this way and knew what the results would be. If you install a NOS system on your bike you might not get the same results by tuning it with the bars - every bike performs a

little differently. You still need to get it on a dyno and check the AF while on the juice. In the following dyno runs, Nos was activated at 7,750 rpm and shut off at 10,000 rpm.
