*A Message from the Presidency*

~By Sara Newman "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" It may not be Christmas, but I still find myself often humming the tune, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!" I can't help it--the earth is starting to warm up again, there is more light in the day, and more green is poking out of the ground. (We won't talk about seasonal allergies just yet!) It's just such a relief to come out of the darkness and chill that we experience every winter. It also makes for a nice metaphor for our earthly journey: we often have times of darkness and chill in life, and it's nice that this season also happens to coincide with two things that help me find relief during such times: celebrating Easter and participating in General Conference. No matter how my heart might be aching, or how much I might be struggling with confusion or loneliness, I am always renewed and comforted by the words of our prophets during Conference. And no matter how burdened by sin I may be, or how fearful of the future I may feel, applying the Lord's atonement can bring me hope, peace, and joy as I seek his will. As our prophet, Pres. Monson declared during Conference in April 2010, Our Savior lived again. The most glorious, comforting, and reassuring of all events of human history had taken placethe victory over death. The pain and agony of Gethsemane and Calvary had been wiped away. The salvation of mankind had been secured. The Fall of Adam had been reclaimed. The empty tomb that first Easter morning was the answer to Jobs question, If a man die, shall he live again? To all within the sound of my voice, I declare, if a man die, he shall live again. We know, for we have the light of revealed truth. My beloved brothers and sisters, in our hour of deepest sorrow, we can receive profound peace from the words of the angel that first Easter morning: He is not here: for he is risen. (Ensign, May 2010, 89, 90) We hope and pray that this spring will find you enjoying spiritual renewal as you participate in Conference and celebrate our Savior's atonement and resurrection!
