Thomas Schattauer is Professor of Liturgics and Dean of the Chapel at Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa. As a liturgical scholar, he is fascinated with how the places connected to Jesus life became places of pilgrimage and prayer, monumental church building and public worship, which then influenced the shape of liturgy and piety for Christians throughout the world. He brings to this pilgrims tour an ongoing concern for the life of Christian communities in the Middle East.
