I am a self-employed Yoga instructor and consultant, and a certified Ayurvedic Lifestyle counselor. As a yoga instructor and consultant, I have many years of experience in conducting yoga classes and workshops in India and New Zealand. I developed a keen interest in nature cure and between 2001 and 2005 over a five-year period I studied various courses in natural therapies, ayurveda and yoga at Wellpark College of Natural Therapies, Auckland, New Zealand. At Wellpark College, I obtained a Certificate in Ayurvedic Lifestyle Consultancy and a Diploma in Yoga. Both the courses were full-time, of one year duration each and recognised by the local government agency - New Zealand Qualifications (NZQ). After living in New Zealand for over 12 years, I returned to India in 2005. Since January 2006 I am self-employed and work in the following area, As a yoga and lifestyle consultant, I regularly conduct yoga classes and provide yoga and natural lifestyle consultations. Regularly conduct educational lectures and workshops about yoga and healthy lifestyle for patients, clients, various organizations and the local community. As a visiting faculty, I conduct academic lectures at various naturopathy and yoga training institutions in subjects such as basic principles of nature cure and Ayurveda, living a healthy lifestyle naturally, need for exercise, the concept of toxins, therapeutic fasting, practical application of yoga in nature cure, yogic management of diseases, learning to teach yoga, clinical methodology in a nature cure practice, therapeutic massage, mud therapy, starting-up a nature cure practice, etc. Regularly conduct advanced level training workshops for yoga instructors, naturopaths and doctors in application of yoga in nature cure and therapeutic applications of yoga. Provide assistance in the matters of Organizational and Operational management at places where I am associated with. Between 2002 and 2005, I also managed a fully operational medical centre in Auckland, New Zealand, which was jointly owned by me and my wife, Dr Nayana (MBBS, FRCGPNZ). I also provided yoga and life style consultations and Swedish massage to patients at the clinic. During this period, I also developed a business platform for providing regular yoga classes. I have conducted several yoga workshops and conducted yoga classes (Beginners and Intermediate Levels) at a multi discipline sports and health centre in Auckland, NZ. I have developed and conducted yoga programs for children, adults and senior citizen age groups. I am a pure vegetarian, regular practitioner of yoga and meditation, and a committed follower of natural lifestyle. I also have a special interest in organic farming.

The engineering background:
Basically, I am an engineer with a bachelors degree in engineering (B.E.) from Ravishankar University, Raipur, a masters degree in engineering (M.E.) from the University of Auckland, New Zealand and a post-graduate diploma in marketing management. I have worked for over 15 years in engineering industry in India and New Zealand, mainly in automotive industries in various areas ranging from production planning, quality control, vendor development, quality management, engineering and project management, materials management, operations management to plant management, and as a business unit head at the corporate level. I also worked as a part-time lecturer at the school of engineering, at the University of Auckland, NZ during my masters studies in 1992. My last employment was with Lear Corporation at Halol in India. Lear was a Just-In-Time operation to produce seating and interior systems for General Motors. Lear in India at the time was a 100% subsidiary of Lear Corporation, USA - a leading manufacturer and Tyre-1 supplier of automotive seating system and interior components worldwide. At Lear, I worked as Director of Operations to manage the operation as a business unit head. I reported to the Asia Pacific Operations managing director in India. I was responsible for sales, project management, product engineering, manufacturing, materials management, finance, quality assurance, vendor development, human resources management and plant services functions. As a business unit head, I was responsible for preparation of business plan and budget, monitor and report the company wide performance, achieve short and long term business objectives and budgeted targets, liaise with customers and suppliers, and formulate policies and procedures for efficient functioning of the operation.
Inspired by an inner call, I retired from engineering profession in Sept 1999,
when I resigned from the above position, and turned to yoga and natural lifestyle for personal development! I have travelled to USA, UK, Germany, Italy, Singapore and Malaysia for leisure and business purposes.
