1. Helpdesk
The Help Desk Module automates the day-to-day functions of the Front office management of a hospital. This module helps in assisting patient with accurate information and supports in handling patient related enquiries efficiently. This module having excellent features and advanced search facilities improves the quality of services rendered to the user. It provides for queries relating to the following:

2. Patient Registration and Appointment Scheduling Module


The Registration module is an integrated patient management system, which captures complete and relevant patient information. The system automates the patient administration functions to have better and efficient patient care process. Appointment scheduling deals with scheduling of physician appointments for the patients. The user can view the schedule for a particular doctor; the appointments scheduled for the doctor, the free slots available, blocked slots. Based on the slot availability, the appointment can be fixed. The appointment can be rescheduled and Cancelled based on the scenario. The hospital can track and manage Scheduled Visits, Emergency Visits, and Visit cancellations. The user can view all patients previous visitations to the hospital and also No- show patients list. Telephonic appointments for unregistered patients can also be scheduled.

It provides for enquiries about the patient, the patient's location, admission, and appointment scheduling and discharge details. Furthermore, this system even takes care of package deals for a patient for a fixed cost. Medical Record keeps an abstract of clinical data about patients. It allows easy retrieval of medical records on patients.

3. Outpatient Management Module


The Outpatient module serves as an entry point to schedule an appointment with the Hospital Resident Doctor or Consultant Doctor for Medical Consultations and diagnosis. This module supports doctors to take better and timely consultation decisions by providing instant access to comprehensive patient information. Patient visits are divided into New, Follow-up and Review. This module also handles requests and results of laboratory tests and other examinations. External Doctors visit to in patients can be defined as "Call on". Some patients may avail only the hospital facilities like Lab, Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Physiotherapy and so on.

4. Doctors workbench/ CPOE


The doctors workbench is the gateway for doctors to the hospital management system software. It provides for a single point access to current and future appointments, past history, reminders, latest laboratory/radiology test results for both outpatients and inpatients. The CPOE (Computerized Physician Order Entry system) is also part of the workbench where the physician can record the patient symptoms, diagnose and suggest treatment plans.

Inpatient Management Modules handles the Admission Discharge and Transfer Functions, Ward management Functions and Operation Theatre Management Functions. This module automates the day-to-day administrative actives and provides instant access to other modules, which leads to a better patient care. It provides comprehensive data pertaining to Admission of Patients & Ward Management: Availability of beds, Estimation, Agreement preparation, Collection of advance, Planned admission, Emergency admission and so on. The Inpatient

module also deals with Ward Management: Shifting from one ward to the other, Bed availability, Surgery, Administration of drugs, nursing notes, charge slip and so on.

6. Patient Billing and Insurance Module


The Patient Billing module handles all types of billing for long-term care. This module facilitates cashier and billing operations for different categories of patients like Outpatient, Inpatient and Referral. It provides automatic posting of charges related to different services like bed charges, lab tests conducted, medicines issued, consultant's fee, food, beverage and telephone charges etc. This module provides for credit partly billing and can be seamlessly integrated with the Financial Accounting Module. The billing module is extensively flexible by which each of your billing plans can be configured to automatically accept or deny. The system is tuned to capture room and bed charges along with ancillary charges based on the sponsorship category. The Billing Screens is used for In-patient and Outpatient Billing and Invoicing. Further more the charges for various services rendered can be recorded through service module and this can be used for billing purposes.

General Stores and Inventory module deals with Purchase of Items, Issue of Items, Maintenance of Stock, Automatic Reorder level Setting, Online request for stock from various sub-stores, Online stock transfer, maintenance of stock at different sub-stores, Physical stock verification and adjustment, Return of items to supplier etc.

9. Laboratory Information System


The Laboratory module automates the investigation request and the process involved in delivering the results to the concerned department/doctor of the hospital. Laboratory module starts with receiving the online request from doctors and also allows laboratory personnel to generate requests. The Laboratory module supports to perform various tests under the following disciplines: Biochemistry, Cytology, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, Neurology and Radiology. Tests are grouped under various sections and sample type (specimen). Based on the request the user can input the sample and generate the sample number. Results can be entered based on the sample type either to one test or multiple tests. If the test result requires approval, the supervisor has to approve the result and it is made available to concerned doctors.

Radiology Management Module

Radiology module caters to services such as X-ray, Scanning, Ultra sound etc. Scheduling of Radiology resources is possible. The system stores all the result details of various tests and makes a Report based on the Test Results. These Tests are carried out both for Inpatient and Outpatient. The system stores all the details (like patient number, Test Report like X-Ray, Scanning details) and for each scan the system generates a unique number for the image.

Electronic Medical Record (EMR)

The EMR Module is a fully integrated knowledge repository that caters to Medical and clinical records of patients in the hospital. The system supports medical professionals of various departments of the hospital with relevant information like medical examinations, diagnoses, treatment histories, test results and so on. The module provides access to critical and complete patient data that leads to high quality cost effective and efficient patient care. The EMR has the following features

Dietary Module

The dietary module in the hospital management system software is designed to assist the hospital kitchen in providing meals to inpatients as per the instructions of the dietician. The module facilitates the dietician to prescribe a diet as instructed by the physician to any given patient. The module also allows the maintenance of meal scheduling, customizing meals as per patient meals and recording of individual meal orders.

Salient Features:

Allows the user to create the food items groups and food items available in the hospital kitchen. Captures the calorie count as well as the nutritional information of all food items. Facilitates capturing of recipes that are made up of food items or other recipes and their proportionate quantities. The steps for preparation can also be mentioned. Maintains the nutrition information of recipe items.

Facilitates creation of a day wise meal plan for the kitchen by the dietician in the system for breakfast, lunch and dinner for any given period of time as per the different requirements of patients. Generates the kitchen order ticket consisting of a list of items to be prepared for each day, based on the bed occupancy and the type of meal scheduled.

House Keeping Module

Housekeeping in any hospital is defined as the provision for a clean, comfortable and safe environment in the hospital for patients and general public. Housekeeping in the hospital management system software involves the maintenance of beds in wards, rooms, cubicles. The various housekeeping tasks can be planned, assigned and tracked in the module. Beds are released for Housekeeping after the discharge of the patient If a bed is posted for housekeeping, then that bed is not allocated to the next patients till the Housekeeping Department releases it after making the bed saleable/available.

Nursing Module

Nursing module is a tool provided in the hospital management system software to the nurses to manage their routine tasks with the objective of improving patient care. It is tightly integrated with the Inpatient module and other clinical modules for smooth flow of information.

Some of the features of this module are

Patient Charting: A patients vital signs, admission and nursing assessments and nursing notes can be entered into the system. These are the stored in a central repository and retrieved when needed. Staff Schedules: Nurse can self schedule their shifts using scheduling rules provided in shift modules. The shifts can later be confirmed or changed by a scheduling coordinator or manager. Clinical Data Integration: Here clinical information from all the disciplines can be retrieved, viewed and analyzed by nursing staff. Improved workload functionality: Staffing levels and appropriate skill mix per shift can be more easily determined by the shift modules. Better care planning: Time spent on care planning is reduced, while the quality of what is recorded is improved. This makes for more complete care plans and more complete assessments and evaluations.

Better drug administration: Electronically prescribed drugs are more legible, thus making it less likely that drugs would be wrongly administered to patients.

Emergency Management

CSSD

CSSD, or Central Sterile Supply Department is an important and crucial function of most of the mid-size and large hospitals. In certain countries, CSSD is even mandatory to meet with the government stipulations for hospital licence etc. Items to be sterilized are received and stored by CSSD before they are sterilized and distributed to related departments such as wards, OPD, OT etc. Surgical tools and instruments, tools used for operation, syringes, catheters/tubes/other rubber goods, treatment sets etc are sterilized by CSSD before and after use, wherever applicable.

Features

CSSD module in our software helps users to have the inventory information of items that need to be sterilized, in the form of packs/sets or individual quantity, by keeping track of such items received/issued to departments like OT, Cath Lab, ICU, Emergency and Ward in a hospital. By tracking the in-out details of items, user gets ready info on items that need to be sterilized, items that are sterilized and items that are yet to be returned after sterilization etc. The records of cleaning, disinfection and sterilization are maintained by CSSD module of the software. This helps in finding and analyzing the effectiveness of these processes and practices. Hospital can easily implement Infection Control Policy using CSSD module in our hospital management software, which improves patient safety by enforcing and checking the controls necessary from time to time, to prevent cross infection. Certain items packs, linen etc are exchanged between CSSD, ward and laundry of a hospital. Blood Bank

This module in the MediNous hospital Management Software is quite comprehensive in its nature, maintaining all information regarding the blood donation. The details about the donors and receipients are maintained. The module is linked to other modules in the software for wards and OT in the hospital, whereby, any and all blood requirement during surgeries etc that happens in the hospital are known to the bank. The Financial Accounting Module deals with Cash/Bank, Receipt/Payments, Journal Voucher and General Ledger etc. Books like Cashbook, Bankbook and Ledger book can be generated. This module generates reports like Trail Balance, Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss statement. The Financial Accounting Screens describe about the Account Payable, Account Receivable and General Ledger. Also describe the activities related to IP, OP, Bank related activities and provision to clearing the Supplier Invoice and keep track of the Account Receivable and Revenue related activities. Fixed Asset module

The Fixed Assets Module deals with all the activities that are related to the Fixed Asset Part of Financial Accounting of any hospital management system software. This module handles all the assets of the company, the activities that are related to identifying an item as a fixed asset and then allocating specific depreciation on that asset, managing the movement of the asset, Maintenance of the asset, Revaluation and Disposal etc., Depreciation based on any of the popular depreciation methods. Straight-line method or reducing balance method are the two important Asset Depreciation methods followed. Payroll Module

The Payroll & Personnel module deals with Pay (and deduction) calculation, printing of salary slip, salary certificates, and PF statements, Gratuity Statement and provides a monthly analysis. It deals with the maintenance of employee bio-data, Attendance / Overtime details. It also reports on absenteeism, leave encasements etc. The Personnel & Payroll department is responsible Employee Related Activities like appointing the staff, maintaining the employee database, Fixing allowances and deductions, Leave entitlements, Leave sanctions, Loan, Termination Process, Maintenance of Hospital documents, Insurance details, Tenancy Contracts and Vehicle Registration.

MIS Dashboard

The dashboard presented in the hospital management system software is a summary of key parameters values covering all areas of the hospital that are generally monitored by the top management on a regular basis. Some of the parameters could be current bed occupancy, revenue for a period, collections etc.

Services Module

The service module provides for effectively managing all the services available in the hospital and the charges for each of these services are securely entered and handled. Revenue types can be defined and associated with accounts for posting expenses. The Consultation charges charged at the hospital for each of the physician/doctor/specialist are handled and maintained. - There are separate charges for New, Review, follow up and on call visits of a physician. Charges for all the services under revenue generating cost centers can be defined. Packages can be created and services can be grouped to form a package. Individual and total discounts can be listed. Groups can be created. Number of services related to one treatment process can be grouped to form a single entity. The system automatically indicates the services that are available.

User Manager Module (security workflow)

The User Manager module basically deals with security through controlling the access to the information available in the application. Any user associated with a user group can access only those screens for which the user group has rights. It also deals with the System Related Activity like User Monitor, Creating User Group Master, User Master and view the User Group Lookup of employee database, Maintenance of company documents, User defined error message, Generating Daily Statistical Summary.
