CHAPTER

GOD WILL HEAL ME WHEN HE GETS READY

Some folk believe they will receive their healing; but always at some future date. If it is always put it in the future you will never get it. That is as good as the devil wants. To hear the devil tell it, God will heal you when He gets ready; but He never is ready. He is on a journey, asleep, or busy about something else.

Definite Time fOT Salvation

The devil uses the same excuse on people who are seeking for salvation. If Satan cannot postpone a sinner coming to Jesus he will.try to .get him to think that it takes a certain length of time for God to get ready, or it takes so much time for him to seek before God will accept him. That is all a lie of Satan. A sinner does not have to reform, or live better a long time, before God will save him. God tells him to come just as he is. It is the grace of God, and the righteousness of Jesus, that freely saves him. As long as our faith expects a thing to be done in the future it cannot be done today. As long as a sinner says, "I will get saved sometime" he will never he saved. I had gone to the altar seeking salvation for a long time. One night I said, ''Lord I am not going hack in sin. I am tired of sin. I accept you now. 1 am not going to quit my habits; I have already quit them. I am not going to quit myoid company; I have already quit it. From this minute 1 am crossing the separation line; 1 am leaving this old world behind. Good bye old world forever; 1 am. going through. I'm saying one eternal 'Yes' to God, and one eternal 'No' to the devil. Live, or die; sink, or swim, I am going through. Lord 1 am going to take my place with God's people. 1 will sing when the rest do; pray 1

as the rest do; and testify, or do anything I can. Lord I will serve you from NOW on if you never bless me." Do you think God let me down? No! He can't lie. If He had not saved me I could put my finger in His face at the day of Judgment and tell Him He lied to me. I knew His Word was true. I had to quit sin before He would save me. I acted like 1 was saved. I was saved that very night. I received the witness because I accepted Him. I believed His Word, feelings or no feelings. Every time a person gets in earnest like that, and seeks God with his whole heart, then God is obligated to do something and He will do
sornething.P"?

Definite Time for Other Things

I meet people who say they want the Holy Ghost. I try to get them to seek the Holy Ghost. They console themselves by saying, "The Lord will give me the Holy Ghost when He gets ready to give it to me." They are mistaken. He will give them the Holy Ghst when they get ready. They seem -to think that God knows their phone number, their name and address, and will-deliver them the Holy Ghost when He gets around to it. They have to be more concerned than that. They must seek! They must ask! They must desire! 291 Of course, you don't believe that would work about the Holy Gho&; neither will it work about healing. Even when you are praying for others you must accept it when you pray. Accept the answer when you pray. Stand on the assurance.293 Imagine a wife praying for her husband and being so unconcerned. Imagine her saying, "The Lord will save my husband when He gets ready to save him." Her husband would be lost if his salvation depended on her prayers. Would you pray that way about your boy or girl? No! God is ready to save at all times. The same is true about healing. You may as well say, "Lord save me when you get ready," as to say, "Lord heal me when you get ready." He has been ready about nineteen hundred years.294 You need to get ready. He has done His part, you must do yours.

I told my brother, did, He did the same decision. Many more their salvation. They

who had been seeking God a long time, how I way and was saved the same night he made that who I have instructed that way have accepted felt it as soon they accepted it.

I don't mean to be writing on salvation, but healing is accepted the same way. If you get a telegram tomorrow that you have an oil well, you will be happy if you really believe it. You will act on your faith. If you really believe First Peter 2:24 you will do something about it. You will be happy because you first believed it. Some people say they are born to go to heaven or hell. They tell us there is nothing they can do about it. If they are to be saved they will be saved. If they are to be lost they will be lost. They can pray all they like but they will not be saved unless it is for them to be saved. They say God will save them when He is ready, and not before. I know you don't believe that. But why believe that about your healing? What would you do if you were trying to get a friend saved, and he would not pray or do anything, and say the Lord would save him when the Lord was ready? You would tell him the Lord was waiting on him to get ready. You may as well say, "God will save me when He gets ready," as to say, "God will heal me when He gets ready."

Definite Time for Healing

Everyone who receives healings must set a definite time for it. Believe it will happen when you are anointed with oil, when hands are laid on you, when the word is spoken, or when prayer is offered. If you don't have a definite time to count it done you may never receive it. Faith that is seen is not faith. You see after you believe it is done.296
291 "For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth and to him that knocketh it shall be opened" (Luke 11:10). n how much m~re shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him" (v. 13). 293 "Therefore I say unto you, what things soever ye desire when ye pray believe that ye receive them and ye shall have them" (Mk. 11:24). 294 n He said, it is finished: and he bowed his head and gave up the ghost" Uno. 19:30). 295 " they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover" (Mk. 16:16-18)-

290 "The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Eliu wu a ~an ~~bject to like passiODli u we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not ram... (Ju.5:16-17).

One man told Jesus to speak the word only and his servant would be healed. He believed his servant was healed as soon as Jesus told him his servant lived. His servant was made whole.296 If he had said, "Jesus will heal my servant when He gets ready," his servant would probably have died. A poor incurable woman said, "I will be healed when I touch the hem of His garment." It happened according to her faith. If she had 297 said "I will get healed when He gets ready," she would have died. When I step on the starter of my car, I expect something to happen,

if the' connections are alright. If you are connected with Jesus, then
when hands are laid on you things will happen. Jesus is always ready.

Were the promises for healing, or salvation, or any other promise in the Bible, promised gilts we would have to wait for them to be fulfilled. In that case the responsibility would be on the Lord. But the blessings of God are OFFERED GIFTS. They should be accepted. God can't fail. The responsibility to accept them by faith is ourS.299 The Bible says God has given us freely all things.soo He is ever with outstretched hands saying, "Come, for all things are NOW ready."30l The table is spread. Healing is the children's bread. Suppose you wife gets dinner ready and calls you to dinner. If you would come three hours late the dinner might be more than ready. You mUfl' come when God is ready. He is ready now.

Why Use Remedies

If you are really sincere in that excuse, may I ask you once more, why do you use remedies? Why go to the doctor? Why try to get well? If God is not ready for you to be well yet why do you try to spoil the plan of God and try to get well before He gets ready for you to I!et \Veil ? I think you had betLer change that excuse around, and say it is the devil who is not ready for you to get healed. He will never be ready. His time is always tomorrow: God's time is NOW. Don't you think that all the doctors and hospitals should be put out of business because they are trying to get people well before God gets ready?302 You can't make me believe you are sincere about that excuse if you try to get well other ways before God gets ready. God is ready Now. Believe and receive!

Now Is the Accepted Time

The only time that God promises to save is now. The only time He promises to fill with the Holy Ghost is NOW. The only time He says He will heal is now. He has never promised to answer your prayer tomorrow. What things soever you desire when you pray believe you receive them (then) and you'll have them.298 Mere prayer will not heal. Merely coming into the presence of Christ will not heal. According to your faith be it unto you. God says, "Today if ye hear His voice harden not your heart." "Behold, Now is the accepted time." "Come now and let us reason together."

"... ami lei them pray over him annointing him with oil in the name of the Lord" (Jas. 5 :14). "said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leape!' and walked" (Acts 14:10). " ... pray one for another that ye may be healed .. (Jas- 5 :16). 296"And a certain Centurion's servant, who was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die ... Then Jesus went with them, and when he was not far off from the house, the Centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord trouble not thy self .. but say in a word and my servant shall be healed ... And ther t~at were sent, returning to the house, found the servant whole that had been SICk (Luke 7:2-10). ' h 297"And a certain woman which had an issue of blood twelve years .. w en she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his .garment .. And He said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hast made thee whole; go m peace, and be whole of thy plague. (Mk. 5 :25-34). 29S ''Therefore 1 say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them" (Mk, 11 :24). "... behold nQWis the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation" (II Cor. 6:2).

Many

Blockades to Healing

There are so many things that try to keep one from getting his healing. There are so many churches teaching it is done away with. There 299"But without faith it i. impossible to please him" (Heb, 11:6).
soo "He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?" (Rom. 8:32). 301 "And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden Come; for all things are now ready" (Luke 14:17). 302"I would like to state that 1 am not against doctors and medical aid. They are doing their best. But in spite of all they are doing there are more people sick than ever before."

are 80 many ministers, instead of teaching. that Jesus wants to heal, are teaching that Jesus is not what He used to be and is not touched with our feelings and pains, and no longer has mercy.IOS It is a wonder some would have faith as they do. Some are teaching that Jesus no longer saves. They say we can just shake hands and join and we can't he lost. They came too late to tell me. Jesus still saves. He still heals and answers prayer. There are so many higher critics. There is so much lack of faith in the afflicted ones. There are so many of the devil's excuses. There are so many blockades to healing.

A dog has some rights. What did Jesus do? He said, "0 woman, great is thy faith, be it unto thee even as thy wilt." It takes a will power to keep pressing. "As thou wilt." A fixe::! and concentrated will is essential to all strong faith and action.P'" Difficulties cannot injure true faith. He seemed against her. But still she kept seeking. She got the answer. If she could receive healing when it was not even for her how much more can the chilrlu'n ~~t h~f1'ing?306 When you do something about your healing that shows you do have some faith. If you have some faith you will do something about it.801 Doing nothing is not faith. Wishing is not faith .. Hope is not faith. Faith is NOW, right NOW.loS "He that believeth, HATH."309 If you believe, you have. To develop muscles you must exercise them. To develop faith you must exercise faith. Faith is active. Do something about your healing! Faith without action is dead. Belief is passive. Faith must act. All of the faith heroes in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews did something. God did not let them down when they stepped out on His promises. Step out! Do something! Faith is the evidence of things not seen. If you do something before you see, that will be evidence that you have faith. The poor incurable woman that the doctors sent home to die did something. She was made whole. She pressed through the opposition.Iw
Saying, what wilt thou that I shall do unto thee? And he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight. And Jesus said unto him, receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee" (Luke 18 :36-42). 306 "When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been a long time in that case, he saith unto him, wilt thou be made whole?" (John 5:6). 306 "And behold a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast and cried un~o him, saying, Have merc;y on me, 0 Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievouslj vexed WIth a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him saying, Send her away, for she crietb after U!. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Then came she and worshiped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, it is Dot meet to take the children's bread and cast it to dogs. And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the children's table. Then Jesus answered and said unto her, 0 woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thy wilt And her daughter was made whole from that very hour" (Matt. 15:2228). 807 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone" (Jas.2:17). S08"NOW faith IS the substance of things hoped for" (Heb, 11:1)_ 808 "He .that believeth on the Son hath the witness in himself " (I JDO.5: 10). "He that beheveth ODthe Son hath everlasting life" (John 3:36). SlO"When she had heard of Jesus, came in the preas ... (MIt. 5:27).

Press Past the Blockades

"From the time of John the Baptist until now the Kingdom of Heaven is preached and every man must press into it." You must do some pressing. Any old "trash can float down stream. It takes a live fish to go upstream. We need a back-bone like a saw-log instead of a potatovine. We must press our way to Jesus. Look at poor blind Bartimaeus! If anyone had a right to sit down and expect someone else to do the pressing he did. He had been blind all his life. He had never seen his wife, children or family. Did he just sit there? No! 88. The people told him he was getting too loud. They told him he was out of order. He got that much louder. He cried more than ever. He got in earnest. He said, "Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy upon me." Did Jesus pass him by? No, he said, "Thy faith hath made thee whole." You must have a little faith. If you do you will do something about it. You will not just sit and make excuses. If anyone had a right to quit it was the poor woman who asked Jesus to heal her daughter. Jesus called her a dog. But still she kept asking.

lOS..... for hie mercy endureth forever" (PI. 136:1). This truth .is atated twenty-six times in this short chapter. How can people say that He 111 not u merciful as He used to be. He always healed people. He etill doea, thank Godl so, "And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, h~ve mercy upon me: And they which went before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Thou son of David, have mercy on me. And Jesus stood, and C<!mmanded him to be brought unto him: and when he was come near he asked him. 6

It a poor woman who was given up to die .had courage to do some pressing you have no right to be so lazy, and put up one of the devil's excuses, and say, "God will heal me when He gets ready." Anybody can say that. A sinner can say that. Wake up! Get busy! Repent of your carelessness and laziness! If you are not guilty I don't mean this for you.

Put Forth an Effort

Hezekiah didn't make an excuse like that. When God told him he must surely die he got busy, and prayed. He believed God would heal him. He was healed. He lived fifteen more years.8ll Go to work! The four lepers didn't make excuses like that. They asked, "Why sit we here until we die." They went into the camp of the Syrians. They lived because they did something. Otherwise they would have died. Sl1 Why don't you do as much as those poor lepers did? Why don't you ask, "Why sit we here until we die?" A sinner is lost because he does nothing. People are not healed because th~y do nothing, I say again, action denotes faith. If you call for the elders of the church, if you fast and pray, that shows that you believe the Bible. After you have done something about your faith, after you show an action.xafter you fast and pray, then you must believe Jesus HAS. If you see no change just then, or see no visible results, you will have the assurance that He has heard you and the answer is on its way because doing somehting about it shows you have faith. If you had no faith you would not fast and pray. When Jesus said, "Rise up and walk," I believe were with no feelings. & they moved out from crutches, or props their faith took hold. They were used to tell people to do something; He still does. It an eft'ort that they receive their healing. the first few steps the beds, chairs, made whole. Jesus is when they make

We who believe God for healing can bring you to where the power of God is present to heal. Then you are on your own. When Jesus told the man to arise and take up his bed and, go into his house it was then time for him to have personal faith, and do his best. When he did his best God did the rest. He set his goal. He burned his bridges. He believed for complete freedom. He counted it done.318 There are folk who never put forth an effort to be healed. Still, ae one brother said, they whine, whimper, and wonder, If they acted that way about salvation they would never be saved. If they acted that way about their insurance they would never collect it. If they acted that way in the summer, they would be eaten up with flies. The lice would eat them up if they never put forth an effort to keep them off. Put forth an effort and chase the devil a little. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.8U This super-nice way of getting healed with no action, or demonstration will bring no deliverance. March hard for victory. Make the final effort. If we sought healing as we did medical aid, we would be completely healed. People will sit for hours in a doctor's office waiting for an examination. If the doctor doesn't get to them they will come back the next day. They will stay for a week waiting for an observation. Why don't they just stay at home and say the doctor will come to see them sometimes, when he gets ready? Faith works as you put it into action. An arm in the sling will lose all the strength it ever had. If you take it out and exercise it you can gain use of the arm. Treat your faith like that and let it grow.

Do You Have Any Scripture?

Do you have one verse or one line to teach you to believe that you must wait until God gets ready before He will heal you? .When would
said one to another, why, sit we here until we die?" (Il Ki. 7:3). IllS "And they came unto him bringing one sick of the Palsy, which was bome of four. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the presa they uncovered the roof where he was, and when they had broken it up they let down the bed ~herein the sick of the Paler lay. Whe~ Jesus saw their faith, He saith unto the alck of the Palsy, Son, thy sms be forgiven thee ... I say unto thee, arise, and take up thy bed, and go into thine house" (MIt. 2:311). 114 "Resist the devil and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). 116"So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God"

811 " Thus saith the Lord, set thine house in order: for thou shall die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord; and said, remember now 0 Lord, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore ... I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years" (Is. 38:15). 112 "And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they

you ever know to have faith? What can we rest our faith upon if we cannot rest it upon the revealed Word of GOd?315 There is no other foundation. All other is sinking sand. Do you really believe God would write a Bible like this? "By His stripes you are healed, providlng God is ready." "The prayer of faith shall save the sick, if God is ready; and the Lord shall raise him up, providing He is ready." "They shatllay hands on the sick and the Lord shall raise them up, providing He is ready." "I am the Lord that healeth thee, providing I am ready." "Who forgiveth all thine inquities and healeth all thy diseases, proving He is ready." "Many are the afflictions' of the righteous, but God delivereth him out of them all, providing He is ready." "Ask anything in my name and I will do it, if I am ready."316 When would you ever know when to expect anything of the Lord? You might die before God got ready. The doctor may not be ready. He may be too tired. He may be busy. But God is not a man as a doctor. Would God say, "If we confess our sins He will forgive them, if He happens to be ready?" Certainly not! A sinner could be dead and in hell before God got ready. A sick person can come assured that it is the will of Cuu that, "your body prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers." Glory! It is just as easy for Him to heal as it is to forgive sin. He is the "Great I AM,"317 not the "Great I Was," or the "Great I will be when I get ready." We must believe that He is, and He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.us "Faith is the evidence of things not seen," not "shall be the evidence of things not seen." God didn't say, "no good thing will I withhold walk upright, if I am ready." from them that

Bible like that. You can have it if you want it but I want the Bible like it is. Faith comes by hearing it. Glory! And, I'm so glad all His promises are still yea and amen in Christ Jesus and not, "Maybe, if He is ready."319 If you have one verse or line on your side, to support your excuse then alright. If you don't have any scriptural support, then why don't you discard that excuse and come on and claim your healing?

Then Close You Case Out for Victory

If your rich uncle were to you say, "They will give it would put your claim in for and fight for it. Yet, healing die and leave you a black land farm would to me when they get ready?" No, you it. You would undoubtedly get a lawyer is your inheritance.

Healing is your Father's last will. "Will" means a testament. The Spirit Himself beareth witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. And if children then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ. You are "Heirs to the riches of His grace. " You are "Heirs of salvation, heirs of the grace of life."32o There are many missing heirs here in America. It is said that more than twenty million dollars are waiting for someone to put in their claim. Are you one of the missing heirs of the Kingdom? Come and file your claim. Jesus is your testator and your lawyer. He will not swindle you out of your inheritance. Claim your healing now for He is ready. He is able to keep that which we have committed into His hand."a21 But He does not promise to keep anything that is not committed to His hand. I heard He didn't turned it ready." That is that a colored boy got a slip to fill out to go to the Army. know how to fill it out. After worrying a long time he over and wrote on the back: "/ am ready when you are the attitude we should take about our healing. God is ready

All the scriptures quoted, incorrectly above, would destroy faith. You would never know when to expect anything. I wouldn't want a

Look it up in the Bible: (PI. 103:3); (84:11); (34:19); (Jao, 14:15); (Ex. 15:26); (Is. 53:5); (James 5:14-16); (Mk. 16:16.18). 117" Verily I say unto you, Before Abraham wu I Am" (Jno.8:58). 818" for he that cometh unto God must believe that He is, and that he is rewarder of them that diligetly leek bUr" (Heb. 11:6).

319"For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in hiIr Ameu, unto the glory of God by us" (II Cor. 1 :20). 820 Here is mote proof: (Rom. 8:16.18); (Titus 3:7); (Heh, 11:9); (I Peter 3:7); (Gal. 3:29); (las. 3:5). 821 "For I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is abI. to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day" (II Tim. 1:12). 11

when we are ready. We should be ready when He is ready. Then we will get something. Come now. The past is dead. The future is yet unborn. Only now is ours. NOW is the accepted time. As long as the devil gets you to wait you have no faith. Come on accept it nOw. Close your case out for victory.

GOD USES MY SICKNESS TO SAVE MY LOVED ONES

J know a precious man who fell out of a truck. He crippled himself. He suffered untold misery. He was without money; and his family suffered poverty. He prayed much. Later on in life a son, and a daughter were saved. He says God caused him to be crippled that they might come to the Lord. He prayed for them and they were saved. But I wonder if he couldn't have claimed the promises of God just the same with a well body. Then 1 wonder too, after they are saved, why he can't get his healing and believe the Word of God. God says, "I am the Lord that healeth thee."
We went to pray for a good old sister who was suffering with a cancer. We told her God wanted to heal her, but she informed us that she was suffering for her children. She wouldn't believe that God would keep His promises to heal her. She died. Her children are still in sin as far as 1 know. I wonder if she couldn't have claimed the Promises of God for them with a well body. Wouldn't she have bees able to pray the prayer of faith if she had not been eaten up with cancer? And did God promise to give us the desires of our heart and save our loved ones if we would abide in Him and if His Word abides in us? Did He not say that our house would be saved if we would pray the prayer of faith? Did He say we can have whatever we desire while praying if we believe? Did He promise to give us whatever we ask in His name? Or did He say that we must have a cancer before He would do it? Answer me!

No one has .to suffer for our sins. Jesus suffered for our sins. We don't have to suffer for anyone's sins.88% Jesus said, "It is finished". He alone paid the price. He deserves the glory. We remember reading where Martin Luther thought he had to do a certain amount of suffering. He crawled on glass. He punished himself many ways. One day God spoke to him: "The just shall live by faith."383 Luther set the world on' fire! To get people saved they must know that Jesus alone did the suffering. Many people put glass in their shoes. They do much penience. That will never get anyone saved. Jesus alone atoned for our sins. No one else is worthy. Friend, remember, if you want to be saved or healed, you must trust in the finished work. Our healing has been paid for. Our salvation baa heen paid for. Come as you are.su

Miracles always brings revivals. When Paul commanded that the man who disturbed be made blind for a season the deputy got saved.SBB When God wanted to bring a revival he always raised up a man through whom he could work miracles such as Moses, David, Samson, Elijah, and Elisha. When Daniel and the Hebrew children were delivered supernaturally the people believed on their God. When Paul and Silas were delivered supernaturally a revival broke out. Everywhere Peter, Paul or any of the Disciples, were sent there were miracles performed. Revivals followed. When Gidion was called he said, "where are the miracles?" When God did the miracles people followed him. The battles were won by miracles. God is a God of miracles. He is the same today. He does not change! We should pray as the early church did for God to stretch forth His hand to heal and do signs and miracles. The place will be shake. and people will get saved! 889

Miracles Brings Revivals

Look around. You will see for yourself. When a person is healed, or when a healing revival comes to town there are most always as many, or more, coaversions as there are healings. And what does the Word of God say? When Jesus healed the nobleman's son a revival broke out.386 It caused conversions. When He raised Lazarus from the dead many of the Jews, and even the Priest believed on JesuS.888 When Phillip had his revival many were healed, God says that they saw the miracles and turned to GOd.187

Healing Glorifies God

We have seen that, always, when God healed people in the Bible days that people turned to God. Healing glorifies God. Sickness always glorifies the Devil. We can serve God better with a well body. All the soul winners we have seen, or read about, were able to carry the message. They were Dot shut-ins. Why didn't God let them be shut-ins, or be sick or affiicted where they could win more souls for God? Nonsense! If a

person has faith for healing he has faith for souls. If we don't believe the Word of God for one thing it is hard to believe Ilia Word for other things. Sickness glorifies the Devil. The Devil causes one to be sick. Jesus heals him. About ninety percent of the people are sick or afflicted in some way. Everybody is sick or afflicted at some time or other. There are more physicians, more hospitals, and more new diseases, than ever before. According to some people's theory, if sickness would cause people to get saved, everyone ought to be saved by now. We have had enough suffering to save the whole world. But no, there is more sin than ever before. Sickness does not bring people to God! But healing does. Sin and sickness are closely connected together; they are twin sisters.a90 The Devil brings them both. JesU8 is seeking to destroy both.Slll He came to destroy the works of the Devil, instead of putting more on people. You may as well say that a person has to go in sin to be healed as to say that a person has to get sick to get saved. You may as well say that you have to back-slide to get someone healed .. to say you have to be sick to get someone saved! Sickness hardens people's heart. Healing touches people's heart. Healing brings joy and gladness which God commands us to have. A few shut-ins may pray the prayer of faith for someone's soul. Sickness did not cause it; they did it in spite of the sickness. They could have done ten times as much if they had been well, if they would have done it. Sickness didn't cause them to do it, They win very few souls. They cause more to question the goodness of God. su Look at the people in hell they could have won to God if they had been wen. Then they take up the time of others who could be winning people to God. Those souls they could have won to God are lost. They need to be well so they can win others; so they can win others who are going to bell by the thousands daily.

Look at the money spent for medicine and doctors, and hospitals that could be put in missionary work. Then tell me that their sickneaa brings people to God! A thousand times No!

Why Try to Get Well?

Why do you try to prevent diseases and sickness? Why don't you welcome all new diseases and plagues which come into the country? Why don't you pray for a double portion of sickness, or cancer? Don't you want to see people saved? Pray that God will put disease on everyone so people will hurry and get saved. Everyone has folks whom he doesn't want to see go to hell. Why not ask, when you pray, that the Devil put heart-troubles, T.B., Ulcerated Stomachs, and cancers on everyone? Yes, according to your theory, every Doctor should be prosecuted. Every hospital should be put out of business. Drug stores should be abolished; for they are houses of rebellion. They are keeping lost lOW. from coming to God by making people well. Nonsense! Absurd! You don't believe such atutl! Don't believe that! Don't let the Devil tell you that you must stay sick to get people saved.

Do You Have One Scripture

If yO\1can't find one scripture to support that excuse, then why nol drop it? Get that doubt of the Devil out of your mind. Don't say anything if the Bible does not say it. Faith comes by hearing the Word.S96

about the good.

Maybe You Want Sympathy

People are generally seeking such an excuse. They had rather ing. They don't want to claim some kind, comforting, words. his shoulder. someone to pity them when they make have sympathy than to have thier healtheir healing for fear they will loose They want someone to let them cry on

It looks reasonable that as long as the Devil makes you believe that you are suffering for someone's salvation just that long you will have afflictions. You can't be vcur best for Cod. Some of your folk may pray through sympathy. Or you may even pray through for someone's salvation. But thousands of others will be lost whom you could have won to God had you claimed the promises of God for your deliverance. Deliverance is for you NOW. WILL THOU BE MADE WHOLE?

Just because some of your folk come in and cry a little, that is no sign they have repented. They are crying because they are in trouble. You have not won them to God. Thirty days after you are dead they will forget all about you, and the promise they made. Your sickness will cause them to question God's goodness. They will doubt the goodness of God. They will doubt your experience if you don't receive healing. Healing causes people to get saved; sickness does not. Yes, if you don't get healed, they will say to themselves, "if God will not do what He promised, I don't want to serve that kind of God." The Bible says the Goodness of God leads people to repentence.898 He did not say that the badness of the Devil would lead people to repentence. The Devil's work will drive them away. Healing will bring them closer. One more proof is this: When Dorcas got sick and died, the people came around and cried. But that was not repentance. They would have forgotten all about their tears in three days if they bad gone ahead and buried her. As far as we know none of them received salvation. Peter came down and prayed. Dorcas was raised up and made well". The people turned to God and were saved. I., Let's take the Word of God.

of Him, but tells us to ask of Him great things. TIc said that was the reason that we did not get things from Him, hec ausc WI: did not ask. He said for us to ask that we may receive. He wants our joy to be full. He said, "ask, and it shall be given you." Then al!ain, "ask, anything in my name and I will do it." He said, "anything." Anything means just "anything." That includes all kinds of healing. Glory!

GOD I-IAS DONE ENOUGH FOR ME

I met up with a man the other day who had an ear which roared all the time. lIe said it had been deaf five years. I asked him why he didn't have it prayed for. He said God had done so much for him he was satisfied to keep the roaring in that ear. I met a good Christian woman a few nights ago. She bad been blind in one eye for about thirty-five years. I wanted her to accept her healing. The excuse she gave was this: "Well, I promised God if He would just let me see out of one of my eyes that would satisfy me, and I would never ask Him to heal the other eye." God had been so good to her she would not ask Him to do any more. They think this is being honest with God. They think this j_, the way to be humble, nice, and sweet. As long as they ~ay that, just that long they will never receive their healing. We could all say that; for God has been good to all of us. If we all say that we might as well blot healing out of the Bible.

Your Inheritance
If your rich uncle would die and leave you a will for a great farm you would think it was your farm, would you not? Would you take possession of it? I think you would. Yet healing is your inheritance. I Peter 2:24 is your inheritance. That is the will.411 Then if the will would read that there was $1000.(J0 worth of equipment which went with that farm in order for you to be in a position to cultivate it, would you want the equipmeut ? You would need it to operate the farm. Would you say that you had enough? Would you ~ay your Uncle had given you enough? No, you would get the $1000.00 worth of equipment to operate the farm. You can't work in God's harvest, like you should, with a sick body. You need a well body. Get your healing so you can do the work He has left for you to do. You have salvation; but God says for you to work your salvation out. You can't do it with a diseased and aching body.

Ask of Me4lt
Does it hurt God to do things for us? Does it worry Him? Does it bankrupt Him? He commands us to ask of Him, and not only ask no "Ask. ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain; SO the Lord shaD make bright clouds, and give them showers of rain, to everyone gr8.118n the field" i (Zech. 10:1). "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty thinga, which thou knoweth not" (Jer.33:3). . "... ye have not because ye ask. not" (lu.4:2). "Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask and ye ahall receive th.t yom joy may be full" (Jno. 16:24). . "For everyone that ask.eth receiveth; and he that seeketh fiDdeth: aDd to Iaim that knocketh it wall be opened" (Luke 11: 10) . "If ye uk anything in my name I will do it" (JaG. 14:14).

The Children's Bread

The Lord tells us that healing is the children's bread}12 We need bread to keep living. You had some bread yesterday for dinner. You have eaten much bread in the past years. Does that mean you will never need any more? God has been good to you by supplying your natural bread. But you can't exist in the future without more bread. If you would buy your little girl a doll for Christmas I am sure she would be glad of it. But when you get dinner ready, and call her to
411 " and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that ye prayers be not hindered" (I Peter 3:7). 412 "But he anlwered and said, it is not meet to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs" (Matt. 15 :26).

21

dinner, she r-ornes. Imagine her saving. "No, you have done enough for me. I will not eat anything because you have been good to me, and bought me this beautiful doll." You would say, "this dinner is ready. You may as well eat it. It is paid for. Child, you can't live without it, Come on. It is free. I fixed it especially for you." The Lord cares as much for you, and more so, as you do your lhtle girl. He prepared this bread for you. I used to go places before I learned better, and eat half enough. They fixed a good dinner for me. It was a strange place. I was bashful. They asked me to eat more. I said, "no, thanks, I have had enough." The food was wasted. Do you think they appreciated that? No, they wanted me to eat all I wanted. J didn't have enough. Something just made me say that. You know God has not done enouzh for von until he heals you. Something just makes you say that. Put your feet under your Father's table. Don't be bashful, or backward. "Come for all things are now ready." THAT INCLUDES HEALING. Rejeeting the invitation is a sin in the sight of God.

Why starve on dry cheese and crackers? Come get all God has for you. Come get your healing for every ailment. I heard of an old farmer who picked lip a man and let him ride in his wagon. The man he picked up had a large load on his back. After .awhile the farmer looked around and told him to lay the load down in the wagon. He answered, "No, it is enough to carry me, much less my load." Friends, Jesus is carrying both you and your burden. Just lay your burden on Him. He is strong. He invites all the weary and heavy laden to come unto Him and receive rest. He says "come." That means you if you have burdens. That includes all you who are weary with disease or sickness. Jesus commands you to come and receive rest from your pain.414

Is That Scriptural?
Did Jesus ever turn anyone away with an excuse like that? Certainly He did not! He healed all who came. I guess He healed Lazarus hundreds of times before He raised him from the dead. Mary and Martha didn't say Jesus had done enough for their brother. They sent for Jesus. Did any of the Apostles ever turn anyone away with such an excuse? No, they did not! Some people say they want to just bearly get to heaven. But Paul believed in "an abundant enterance." He said the Lord would do exceeding, abundant, above all we can ask or think,,16 The Lord says for us to call unto Him and He will show us great and mighty things that we know not. Paul says the Lord will supply all our needs. Peter says He wiII give us all things that pertain to life and godliness. Paul says Jesus will freely give us all things. David says that He will not withhold good things from us, and that He heals all our d.i.seasc., and delivers the righteous out of all their afBictions. Jesus said "all mine is thine."
,u, "Come unto me all -,.e that labour and are heavy lsdea, and I will gi~e (Matt. 11:28).

Healing

Paid For

In several places in God's Word you will find that the Healing is already paid for, just the same as your salvation. Why not take it if it has been purchased for you.413 A man and wife was to start across the ocean one time. In those days it took weeks to cross. Everyday at twelve o'clock the dinner bell would ring. The man and his wife would go off to one side and eat their lunch which consisted of cheese and crackers.

Finally one day at noon someone asked them why they didn't come on and eat at the regular table where they had everything good to eat you could think of. They replied: "We don't have any money." They were told, "It was all paid for when you bought your ticket to start across."
When you accepted Jesus and became one of the heirs, you fell heir to it all It doesn't cost Jesus any more. He has already paid for our healing by His stripes at the time He paid for our salvation.

Did He ever say, "they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover, if God had not already done enough for them?" No! SG if you don't have any scripture for your support, get rid of that faitbdestrojang excuse and receive your healing.

oil lamp? Why didn't you keep your old ice box? God had been good to you already. Why don't you just come out plainly and tell us that you are just too lazy to seek God? If you are sincere be sure and don't eat dinner today. God has been' good enough to you. You had so many good things last year. Don't ever gather ~ny more flowers; they are so pretty; but you have had 150 many good things. Flowers are free. Yet healing is just as free. Pray like this: "Lord please don't send any more sunshine. You have been good enough to us already." But we can't do without it. We would die! We can't do without healing. The devil is seeking to kill you. Jesus is seeking to heal you! HEALING IS JUST AS FREE AS SUNSHINE. It's no harder for God to send. It is just as plentiful. He has heaven full of the grace of God! God is not bankrupt.O? He is seeking for someone to open his heart to receive healing. Only believe His Word! Don't seek Him halfheartedly. He lri.ll be found if you will seek Him with all your heart! I know of an old colored man who prayed like this: "Lord if yon will just answer this prayer I will promise you I will never ask you for anything else while I live." Don't be ridiculous!
417 "For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills" (Ps. 50:10).

The More the Better'

Jesus teaches that the ones He forgives most loves most. The same is true with healing. The more He can do for us the better. He is touched with the feelings of our infirmities. He says for us to forget not all His benefits. That is a commandment. Then the next verse tells us what he has in mind. He tells U8 the benefits, he commands us not to forget, are our sins being forgiven, and our diseases being healed. Jesus is seeking to deliver the godly. He wants to heal you!

Loved Ones Saved

Did you ever hear a Mother praying like this? "Lord you have done enough for me. You have saved one of my children. That is enough. You have done enough for me. Don't save any more of them." "Nonsense" you say. That is just as simple as that excuse about healing. We are at this time in the middle of a revival. There have been hundreds saved and healed, and baptized with the Holy Ghost. What if I would say, "The Lord has done enough for us. Don't do any more, Lord." The people would think I was crazy. You think that is silly, but Jesus asked, "Which is easier for me to say, .thy sins he forgiven thee, or to say, arise, take up thy bed and walk?" Jesus can heal you as easily as He can forgive you. He says. He is just as willing. Glory!m

GOD HEAL 1\IE, IF I Al\1 TO BE HEALED

One day I was driving down from the parsonage to town. I overtook a neighbor who was walking. I stopped and asked if he wanted to ride. He got ill. On asking hoy; he and his falllily were, I was sorry to hear that his wife was in the hospital in a serious condition. I was sorry for tIle man and wanted to help him. I asked, "Do you believe in Divine Healing? He looked off through space and studied awhile, and then he answered, "If she is to be healed God will heal her; if not lie will take her." After this poor man got out of the car my heart was heavy. What if everyone made an excuse like this? There would be DO one trusting God for healing. He cleared himself of all responsibility. He put it all on God. He put forth no effort whatsoever to lay hold on the promises of God.

He says, "whosoever will, let him come, and tak of the water of life freely!" "Whosoever" means any of us who have the will power. But we must come and take it by prevailing prayer, through faith. It is up to us to come.4S9 If a very rich man would promise he would give ten dollars to the person who dJlew the lucky number, then you could afford to make an excuse like this. But if you would hear him say that he would give ten dollars to all who came to him, then you would expect ten dollars if you went to him. The promise would be plain. I feel sure you would walk up and get your ten, if you believed him.

Jesus Healed
O!'

All

Did the Bible say that He healed all who was oppressed of the Devil, just part of them?UO Did He say all that were sick needed a Physician? He is the great Physician. You need Him. Does the Bible say that He picked out a certain few and healed them, or does it say that He healed all who came? Does the Bible say that He is touched with everyone's infirmities except yours ?"1 Can you imagine Jesus telling blind Bartimaeus that everyone was to be healed except him? What would he have thought, after people had recommended Jesus to him? What would he have thought, after he had so much faith? What would he have thought after he bad tried so hard, and finally pressed past all the people who tried to quiet bim down? He would have been so disappointed that he would never have had any more courage to trust in Jesus for anything,,4z And how about the poor woman with the issue of blood? After she pressed her way through all the opposition j after she had been given up by the doctors; after she had suffered untold misery for twelve long
439 Run these references: be convinced. (Luke 11:10; Ps, 34:19; Ps.I03:3; 84:11; Phil. 4:19; Matt. 11:28). 440 "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghoet, and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the Devil; {or God W8! with him" (Acts 10;38). 441 "For we have. not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but was in all point. tempted, like as we are, yet without ain" {Reb. 4:15). 44Z " . I wanted to help him. God wanted to help him. But, needless to say, his wife died. So the people who put up such an excuse are the people who put forth no effort to find out what God says, neither do they come to God to claim the promises as the saints of old. They drift with the tide. They don't realize that God says, "ye have not because ye ask not." The Promise of Healing Is to All

Did not God say that everyone who asketh receiveth? Did He say He had no respect to persons? Did He say that He delivers all His saints from their afflictions? Did he say that He bealeth all our diseases? (He said that the one that walketh uprightly could get any good thing!) Did He say that He would supply all our needs? Yea, 26

Same Excuse for Other Things

If a sinner goes to the altar with that excuse he will never be saved. Imagine him praying, "Lord save me if I happen to be a lucky one." I asked someone to seek for the Holy Ghost. She said, "I want it il it is for me." I told her to take the if off, and instead of saying "II the Holy Ghost is for me I want it," say, "the Holy Ghost is for me and I want it." She got the experience. Did you ever hear a Mother praying for her children like this: "Y ,~(, save my boy if he is to be saved?" Yet healing is in the atonc ..en just the same as salvation. Get these excuses out of the way. Read the Bible. Read this whole book through. If you have any other excuse, write the writer. Be well convinced that healing is for you before you come to be prayed for. Don't make God out a liar. If He says healing is for everyone, then healing is for everyone. When y ...u say, "If healing is for me" you are actually saying in your heart, "If God is telling the truth." He that beli~eI'lt. not God maketh Him a liar. He refuses to work when you make Him a liar. 1/ shows a doubt-you'll never get healing until you get rid of the if. This lazy way of seeking the Lord, putting forth no effort whauoever, putting- all the responsibility on God! "If you believe you will see." "Ye have not because ye ask not."9

healing was really not for her. She had faith. She had great faith. She was not a lazy woman, who put forth no effort, or one who made eX(,J!,~. She kept praying and got the healing for her daughter .. And it was not for her! If she had said, "If it is for me I want it" her daughter would have never been healed. But, glory! healing is for us! The King that was sick was ready to die. He was to die, God said; but he sougbt Cod with all his heart, and lived fifteen more years. If he had said, "if it is for me I want it," he would have been buried then. God started to kill the children of Israel. Moses got in earnest aud changed the plan of God. God spared the people. Prayer changes things! God said the people of Nineveh were doomed to die. God didn't say maybe so. He said they would be destroyed in forty days. They fasted and prayed three days. God spared the city. Prayer changed the plan of God when deliverance was not for them. But we don't have to change the plan of God! Healing is in God's plan. We don't have to do like the woman who begged for 8 crumb. Jesus told her that healing was the children's bread. Are you a child of God? Is healing the children's bread? Then come on! Don't say, "II healing is for me I want it." Say, "HEALING IS FOR ME, and J ",ant it."

HEALTH AND HEALING

This 51h" x8%" book not only tells how to be healed. but also how to stay healed. God is concerned about our health rather than our heal ing. It shows why thousands have missed he a I I n g. II shows how to resist the devIl. The fourth chapter. "You May Have What You say," is worth the price of the book. Prhle H eeata
