Graphs applied to kinematics

Demonstrate familiarity with Cartesian coordinates in two dimensions; interpret and use graphs in practical situations including travel graphs and conversion graphs; draw graphs from given data. Apply the idea of rate of change to easy kinematics involving distance-time and speed-time graphs; acceleration and retardation; calculate distance traveled as area under a linear speed time graphs. Students should be able to: Use function notation to describe simple functions and their inverses. Find the value of the image of a function. Determine the inverse of a given function. A-1 denotes the inverse of A Calculate the probability of a single event as either a fraction or a decimal (not a ratio). NOTE: Existing reference book is Syllabus-D 5th Edition which lacks in providing the knowledge of the application of Matrices in Geometrical Transformations, so it is strongly recommended to consult 3rd Edition as a very helping resource in this regard that is easily available in the School Library.
