Its a sign of the times. Social Media is here to stay and as a sector we have the opportunity to embrace and grow into the new wonderful world. Through social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and YouTube, you can reach all of your stakeholders quickly, for a fraction of the cost of traditional methods. Social media can assist you to achieve a number of the objectives set out in the EYLF, NQF and My Time Our Place. There are many day to day objectives that can be fulfilled such as enhanced and improved communication with parents and the wider community. You will be able to make instant announcements to the people that matter. You can share good news stories and photos with a touch of a button, encourage feedback and improve consultation and much more! This series of events will remove the fears and myths that surround the security and privacy of such sites. You will gain an excellent introduction to social media including important considerations such as: Why as early childhood educators is social media is worth considering - the stats, trends and practical business uses for social media. What you need to consider before you get started with social media defining your objectives, target market, social media policy and strategy Choosing the right social networks for your business, and the type of accounts you should have within these networks to achieve your business objectives The importance of security and privacy settings How to use Facebook for best practice personally and professionally plus much more.
