As a building sub, I worked in a variety of classrooms, which allowed me to implement and refine my classroom management skills, as well as my teaching craft.

EXPERIENCE:

Teacher Intern: Novi High School, Novi, Michigan August 2011 December 2011
I worked with three teachers: two in the World History department and was in charge of three classes for 14 weeks, planning and designing units, lessons, activities and assessments. The third, a German teacher and his IB students, planning lessons, activities and assessments.

UM School of Education Social Studies Rounds Project Participant: Ann Arbor, Mi September 2010 December 2011
I was a part of the Social Studies Rounds Project, which required me, as a pre-service student teacher, to observe and teach with five different teachers in four different schools while completing a different research project for each. I observed five various teaching styles and experienced four different demographics of schools before I even started my full semester of student teaching.

Study Abroad Experiences: Tbingen, Germany: January July 2010


I lived, studied, and experienced the culture of southwest Germany and traveled throughout much of Europe. VERY AWESOME LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE! I am highly proficient in the language at a B2/C1 level of comprehension. Participated in a Japanese history class that offered a cultural/historical trip, which took us through five cities in Japan.

Worked with other students to copy, cut and distribute all of the music and coordinates for the 400 member band every week, record attendance, and perform other secretarial work for directors.

Bible Study Co-Leader: Michigan Marching Band Bible Study Ann Arbor, Michigan 2008 2011
Planned and facilitated a bible study with other leaders. We also organized retreats and social events for the group.

Greeting Coordinator: New Life Church Ann Arbor, Michigan 2008 Present
Volunteer for New Life Church two or three times a month as a welcoming greeter. I also am one of the two greeting coordinators. I prepare the schedule for each semester and help organize our team.

Color Guard Instructor: Roseville High School Marching Band Roseville, Michigan May August 2008
I taught the girls foundational skills and techniques of spinning the flag. I also choreographed and taught the girls their Stevie Wonder routine and drill. I also taught the dance break to the entire band.

Member of the sorority. As a chapter, we worked to serve the marching band and the community through music. (volunteer performances, UM Mock Rock, school visits and MMB activities)

I was a member of the Flag Line. I committed my fall to learning eight different shows for each home games; traveling to up to three away games a season. As a member, I was required to report to 1.5 hour rehearsals each day, all home games, and any other performances as a band.
