The Complete Saga of Poor Mr Butu, by N. A. ME (With H. ELD) Have you ever received one of those messages promising you unexpected richness? Of course you have. Whether a foreign lottery hit your number, yet you never entered it, or a Nigerian widow wants to make you part of her inner circle of beneficiaries, all these appeals share a few things in common: They are unexpected, and appear in your mailbox unsolicited They have some sort of a promise of a great reward to you for little effort They are riddled with grammatical and spelling errors, yet they pertain to be very official

Contrary to popular belief, they are most probably not an effort to steal your identity, well maybe also yes, but in reality what they expect is to trick you into making advance payments to collect the larger sum. They are in short, whats referred to as advance fee scams, and you may have heard them mentioned as 419s, because that is the article number of the Nigerian penal code that deals with fraud. Most often they originate in Nigeria, Ghana or any other West Africa country, although lately they have multiplied everywhere. The internet basically makes it so easy to do, that every low life seems to have set up shop to do it. It is a crime everywhere, yet through complacency, authorities (and the victims own shame, non reporting it) do very little to apprehend the culprits. Good Samaritans have therefore decided that if you cant beat them, the only decent thing to do is to make it so unprofitable that it becomes once again uneconomical as a way of life. Time is money. Waste their time, and at the very least they will not be scamming others. This is my first effort to scam bait an idiot five thousand miles away into wasting his time..

I left the hotel at 11pm and was there as at 7pm. This is wonderful for such a wonderful schedule that almost made Hymen Roth, flare at me when he though that we have not got a room. One of my associates is at the room 201 by name Miss. Judith Wilson, you can call to confirm from the hotel. Think about this, if i come to Holland or USA i will not call with my Ghana number because of reliability, i will rather ask my hotel to make the communication then we can establish communication before taking chances with my unreliable roam number. After everything was said and done, I felt a bit uneasy about letting Peter Butu go. Overall the mission was a great success. He was engaged and dedicated resources chasing a ghost, which otherwise might have gone to defraud someone more unsuspecting, and definitely less deserving. Whenever I felt bad about the time or money poor Mr. Butu was putting into it, I went back to the communications between him and what he thought was another scammer in the trade. That game me a reason to continue believing that what I was doing was right. By getting deeper into it, by making stories and excuses that I knew where clearly not true, he dug his own grave so to speak. There is no doubt that Mr. Butu believed that there was a great chance to get something for nothing here. Whether it was some cash being sent via Western Union for some bullshit permits, or the larger payout to come out of grabbing one, two, three foreigners with potentially a lot of cash on them, his motive was always evil. There is plenty written about what goes on in this world.
