One can also define research as scientific and systematic search for pertinent information on a specific topic. Well, all possess the vital instinct of inquisitiveness for, when the unknown confronts, we wonder and our inquisitiveness makes us probe and attain full data and fuller understanding of the unknown, can be termed as research. Research comprises defining and redefining problem, suggesting solutions, collecting, organizing and evaluating data, making deduction and reaching conclusions and at last carefully testing the conclusion. Research methodology is a way to systematically solve the problem.

71

OBJECTIVE OF THE RESEARCH

its primary objective the provision of insight into, and comprehension of, the problem situation confronting the researcher.

2- Conclusive Research Design Research designed to assist the decision

maker in determining, evaluating, and selecting the best course of action to in a given situation.

In this project we have used: EXPLORATORY RESEARCH DESIGN

73

METHOD OF DATA COLLECTION

While deciding about the method of data collection to be used for the study, the researcher should keep in mind two types of data viz., primary and secondary.

Primary Data: The primary data are those which are collected afresh and
for the first time, and thus happen to be original in character.

Secondary Data: The secondary data, on the other hand, are

those which have already been collected by someone else and which have already been passed through the statistical process.

There are many methods of collecting primary data and the main methods include:

questionnaires interviews focus group interviews

74

observation case-studies diaries critical incidents Portfolios.

Among above we have collected data through QUESTIONNAIRE because it is a popular means of collecting data. Besides this there are many advantages of preparing questionnaire: QUESTIONNAIRE

This method is more popular .The questionnaire is sent to the person concerned to answer the questions formatted and return the same soon. A Questionnaire consists of a number of questions printed or typed in definite order on a form or set of forms. The Questionnaire is sent to the respondents. In order to achieve the research objective it is necessary to collect accurate and

75

relevant data, secondary data are already published data collected for purposed other than the specific research needs at hand. Primary data that are collected specifically for the research situation at hand, were collected by surveys ,using respondents surveys is one of the ways of collecting primary data namely observations, experiments and surveys .

Advantages:

Can be used as a method in its own right or as a basis for interviewing or a telephone

Survey. Can cover a large number of people or organizations. Wide geographic coverage. Relatively cheap. No prior arrangements are needed. Avoids embarrassment on the part of the respondent. Possible anonymity of respondent.

76

No interviewer bias.

COLLECTION OF SECONDARY DATA

There are basically two sources to collect secondary data

77

a) Internally b) Externally Internally: Provided by the company/organization Externally: Various publication of central, state and local Government. Internet.

Skills of the employees should be appreciated. Better carrier development opportunities should be given to the employees for their improvement. CONCLUSIONS

There is a lot of differences between the welfare measures Available at Cadbury and Factories Act. The main reason is Cadbury is a food factory. All the provisions of the factories act cannot be applied here. As far as the welfare schemes are concerned the company has sufficient activities and the employees other than salary are being provided with all the other basic needs of them as well as their families.

Company is taking full attention towards its employees whether is of food, transportation, medical aid, recreation and other facilities. The company

pays full attention not only to their employees working there. Infact I was given all the facilities whether is food conveyance facility or any other amenities in the organization. If CIL management put a bit more attention to its employees immure the company will continue as the leader in the confectionary market and the employees will work with more zeal and enthusiasm that will surely help the company in achieving its target.
