La primera referencia de un elevador es en las obras del arquitecto romano Vitruvius, quien report que Arqumedes (287 a. C. 212 a. C.) haba construido un primer elevador probablemente en 236. En algunas fuentes literarias de pocas posteriores, los ascensores se mencionaron como cabinas sostenidas con cuerda de camo y accionadas a mano o por animales.

El ascensor desciende mas rpido de lo que asciende por efecto de las fuerzas gravitacionales ya que: Al ascender la gravedad se opone a la ascensin del ascensor mientras que cuando desciende la fuerza de gravedad ayuda a la aceleracin del ascensor. En este proyecto nos inspiramos y vimos propicio utilizar una Armadura tipo Ns o Pratt ya posee las caractersticas perfectas para el ascensor. La armadura de "Ns" fue patentizada por los estadounidenses hermanos Pratt en 1844. Esta configuracin se distingue por tener sus diagonales siempre bajando en direccin al centro del tramo, de forma que slo estn sujetas a tensin. Puede variar segn su silueta sea rectangular o poligonal. Las armaduras poligonales de "N's" de tramos del orden de los cien metros pueden tener diagonales adicionales que no alcancen de cordn a cordn, denominadas subdiagonales. En 1847 se patentiz la armadura conocida por "doble N's", en la cual los postes verticales quedan ms cercanos unos a otros y las diagonales los atraviesan por sus puntos medios hasta terminar en el prximo panel.

Por lo visto en el informe se concluye que:
El Ascensor o Elevador es un dispositivo para el transporte vertical de pasajeros o mercancas a diferentes plantas o niveles, por ejemplo de un edificio o de una mina. nos falta uso de sensores para detener el ascensor de piso en piso por la falta de un motor con una potencia constante. Este ascensor es capaz de aguantar sin problemas el peso de una persona en escala ya que puede soportar el doble del peso del mismo ascensor. En el trabajo pudimos darnos cuenta que la corriente no es estable por lo que depende de su intensidad y eso se lo puede comprobar por medio de los diferentes aparatos de medida.
