Which of the four foundation of education has the greatest impact in the development of our educational system from the beginning up to the present time? Discuss your answer thoroughly. Philosophy establishes the fundamental principles. It is the education that carries out these principles. Furthermore, it is Philosophy that provides the goals and objectives while education is the instrument in realizing these goals. Philosophy and education complements each other. Both of them spouse theory and practice. The absence of one will make a man insufficient and aimless. If education is to promote change for the better, then education has to turn to philosophy to determine what the better is for the particular segment of society as a whole. Educational philosophy then is the application of philosophy to the study of all factors affecting the aims and goals of education, its method, content and organization in terms of human values as they affect the nature and propose of man and society.

3. The principles of education are principally based upon the facts and principle of psychology. Do you affirm on this or deny this statement? Explain logically and comprehensively. I agreed on that statement for I believed the principles of education are principally based upon the psychological facts and principles. Psychology stresses firmly on the learners condition and principles of learning and the teaching and learning styles. In all cases psychology, by its methods of measuring knowledge and skill, may suggest means to test and verify or refute the claims of any method. Psychology contributes to a better understanding of the aims of education by defining them, making them clearer; by limiting them, showing us what can be done and what cannot; and by suggesting new features that should be made parts of them. Psychology helps here by requiring us to put our notions of the aims of education into terms of the exact changes that education is to make, and by describing for us the changes which do actually occur in human beings.

2. Social groupings in any society are inevitable. How can one individual move from one social status to another? Considering your present position in the social class where you belong, do you think you can improve your present social and economic status? How? One can move from one social status to another through social mobility and social process that refers to patterned and recurrent form of social interaction which may come in the form of competition, conflict, cooperation, accommodation and acculturation. Yes, I can improve my social and economic status depending on how I work on that. If I want to elevate my position as T-1 to T-3, I should finished my M.A and attend seminars. In that way I could acquire and upraise my position.

4. Education should have equity, quality and relevance. Support or refute this statement. Equity, quality and relevance is the 3 main characteristics of the presnt education system. Education should have these three. It implies the mission of DepEd Education for All. Equity in education gives educational and social outcomes for children and young people with additional support and needs. Quality then, is the positive learning outcomes generally sought by educational systems through conducive learning environment. However, relevance is needed not only about the nature of content, its about acquiring what does it mean to learn today and ensuring the currency of content, achievement with goals in educational system is best acquired if it has these 3.

5. How does the philosophy of education differ from the philosophies of education? Which of the philosophies is most relevant and which is more irrelevant? Philosophy of education can refer to either the academic field of applied philosophy or to one of any educational philosophies that promote a specific type or vision of education, and/or which examine the definition, goals and meaning of education. As to my opinion, the most relevant to present education is Nationalism. Although nationalistic education is only an integral part of bigger educational system, it was presently integrated to our educational system where it aimed for the preservation and glorification of the state, development of loyalty and patriotism and responsible citizenship through the integration of values education, military and police trainings and social sciences. Through nationalism, free education was established; scholarship grants for deserving students were given by the government. And through this, rights to be educated are established. As to the irrelevant, I think its Naturalism. Yes, the child was educated in accordance with the natural laws and free from all that is artificial like the use of books. According to Rousseau, children must learn according to his senses and he opposed specialization. That child should have their inclinedness in all aspects. This method is best achieved through tutorial system. But not all can afford to have tutorials. Thats why, its not applicable nowadays for a bigger teacher-student ratio were exemplified.

6. Discuss any philosophy of education and explain how it affects the educational system, school management and learning process. NATIONALISM Educational System: Nationalism stipulated the development of the state controlled and state supported public school systems that are to be found throughout the world today. Nationalism became the dominant role in education and countries began to establish their own educational systems to help achieve their national goals. Education is provided free (Art.XIV) and was to be extended eventually to the lowest level through university. (ladder System) School Management: curricula and organization were usually legislated in the national system. The method was left to the supervisors and teachers who had been trained and re-trained. Increasing proportion of public funds went to support colleges and sensitivities was evident. Learning process: As it aimed to protect and glorify the state, its emphasis is on the development of loyalty, patriotism, national feeling and responsible citizenship. Integration of military and police training (ROTC and CAT), PE. Language education, music and social sciences. Etc.

7. Why must the aims and objectives of education be subject to constant change? Indicate the importance of the teacher in formulating aims and objectives. Because political, economic and social change are taking place in the different parts of the world and these too are affecting the people way of life and needs. Education is faced with changing philosophical ideas and movements which in turn influence the educational policies, curricula as well as aims and objectives of education. How teacher will deal with school matters like selection of objectives, content and method will depend very much on their philosophy of education. This philosophy will guide the teachers in making choices and decisions even if a lot of things on the Philippine education are prescriptive.

8. There are three main branches of philosophy. In what way these philosophies contribute to the development of the educational system of our country? These major areas have much to do with the resolution of educational goals, content of education, organization of the curriculum, teacher education, academic freedom, student discipline and the teaching-learning process. ETHICS for example as part of aesthetics will determine what is worth teaching, what the content of the curriculum and experiences will bring about desirable behavior. (Values Education) EPISTEMOLOGY will determine how curricula will be organized and thought what methods and techniques will be effective METAPHYSICS will determine what and how to teach in the reality of the time and place we live in. 9. Examine the education contributions of such pedagogical pioneers as John Locke, Rousseau, Pestalozzi, Spencer and Froebel. What major contributions in educative act did they bring about? All of them believed in Tabula rasa or Blank slate theory that individuals are born without built-in mental content and that their knowledge comes from experience and perception. Pestalozzi's philosophy of education was based on a four-sphere concept of life and the premise that human nature was essentially good. Froebel laid the foundation for modern education based on the recognition that children have unique needs and capabilities. He developed the concept of the kindergarten. Rousseau (Proponent of Naturalism) said that humanity is naturally good but spoiled by a corrupt society. John Locke: (Proponent of Empiricism.) Lockes empiricism, expressed in his notion that ideas originate in experience, was used to attack the doctrine that principles of reason are innate in the human mind. Spencer developed an all-embracing conception of evolution as the progressive development of the physical world, biological organisms, the human mind, and human culture and societies.
